We've eaten here a few times over the years and the food and service were always excellent. Not sure what happened (maybe an off night) but we went in tonight and it was a totally different experience.   The burger I had was great but my mother in laws fried haddock was cold and my wife and sister in law had a fairly dry open faced roast beef sandwich with one slice of bread.   Worst of all was the service.  Our waitress came over 35 minutes after bringing our drinks to see how we were doing.  When we asked about our appetizer- she said she'd go check on it to see if it was done because she'd been watching it.   She brought it out about 10 minutes later. I'm not a chef but I've never had shrimp poppers that took 45 minutes to cook.  We watched other families come in, sit down, order and receive their food before our food ever came out.  My sister in law asked the manager about the food and she also said she'd go check on it.  The food finally came out at which time my sister in law asked for a glass of water which never came - she had to go to the bar and get it herself.  It wasn't crazy busy in there either. I'm not the type to go out of my way to complain and if the staff had just acknowledged that they forgot to put our order in - it would have helped the situation.  I felt it was worth sharing so if you're reading this I hope you have a better experience than we did!   Sad to see what's become of the Black Forest.

We were greeted when we got there. Followed promptly by menus and drinks. The food was good and the service was excellent! We will definitely be visiting the Black Forest Inn again!

This was my first time at the Black Forest Inn. Drinks were a decent price. Wasn't expecting such a great outdoor seating area. Bikers and hikers welcome. Would definitely go back next time I am in the little pine state park area.

The staff is very friendly and the service is great. The food is always amazing .
