The bookstore itself is fine, but there are almost no places to park, and the parking meters in the area limit a person to only 36 minutes with no chance to put more money into the meters to extend the parking time.  I believe that is a dishonest system put in place to bilk the shoppers out of money just because the local politicians have the votes to pass it.  

If you decide to visit this bookstore, be sure to budget extra money to pay exorbitantly high parking tickets given by bottom-feeders for rinky dink offenses.  This system negates any good prices which might be found at the bookstore.  Perhaps if the local businesses lobbied the city for a more reasonable parking system with a more moderate and restrained approach, the local politicians would listen.  

This store and the stores in the entire area of downtown Chico have lost me as a customer permanently, and they can thank their lousy city government for that.

I love going to this bookstore. It was the first place I went to when I moved to Chico. They have an extensive collection of books on any subject you can think of. They have both new AND used books. They are always playing a mellow selection of music and I love chatting with one of the ladies who runs the store; she always has given good recommendations and is very sweet. ( I don't remember her name, I'm a face person not good with names sorry.)

I remember shopping at this bookstore back in the early to mid-90s when attending Chico State. Visited again recently looking for a very specific book on local history, and they had a used copy at a very reasonable price. Books are well organized, and it was very easy and quick to find the book I was looking for. Decorations are eclectic and add another layer of interest to the store.

All books of all genres. Overwhelming! Go with time on your hands. Great old wooden floors.

This place was great. They had several options to choose from, from various topics to various genres of books. it was a time well  spent.  If you are a person that loves reading books this is the place to go the prices were also reasonable as well.
