About

Our Bed and Breakfast Dream is coming true........

Story

The Buck House Inn on Bald Mt. Creek is a 1904 renovated Colonial Revival home sitting on 8 acres at an elevation of 3,200 ft. The inn is in Burnsville, NC, 45 mins. north of Asheville. The house and property is rich in history with several original stone walls, and out buildings such as old general store, spring house, apple barn and chicken house still standing. The creek runs beside the home and can be heard while sitting on the wrap around porch, in one of the swings spaced along the creek, a hammock stretched between trees, or sitting at night around the fire ring.

We had our wedding at The Buck House Inn this weekend. It was a beautiful venue and Sam, Debbie, and staff were some of the friendliest and most accommodating people. The food was delicious and the rooms were well decorated and the beds were extremely comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and we definitely used the firepit to hangout with all of our friends. I highly recommend The Buck House Inn for a mountain getaway!!

My wife and I decided that rather than go to a beach somewhere in Florida, we wanted to spend our honeymoon in the mountains of North Carolina. Based on the overwhelmingly great reviews and perfect location (just a short 40 minute drive from Asheville and many other attractions), we chose the Buck House Inn. I find it hard to accurately describe how happy we are with this decision. From the moment we arrived, Debbie and Sam (and their two wonderful dogs Jesco and Angel) greeted us with a warm welcome to their home. Once we settled in, Sam got a fire going and Debbie provided us with all the fixings to make smores. Shortly after, they joined us around the fire, just as family would, to chat about our day and how we planned to spend our week in the area. Throughout the week, they suggested restaurants and activities, made reservations for us, and were happy to answer all of our questions and fulfill any requests we had. We stayed in the Hemlock room the first two nights, and the Dreamdale room the last three. The staff was happy to move our things from one room to another for us. Both rooms were beautifully decorated and the beds were beyond comfortable. Breakfast, as they say, was to die for... there is no better way to describe it. I could go on for days about how perfect our stay was, but I think it's better if you just find out for yourselves. The Buck House Inn and its owners will always be near and dear to our hearts. Thank you both so much for going the extra mile to make our honeymoon a dream come true. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

We arrived at 3:00 p.m. on October 15 and were greeted by the owners Debbie and Sam Stebbins. They showed us the house, our room and the surrounding property. Near the house is a creek spilling over rocks as it hustles down the mountain. Upstream about 200 yards are horses waiting to take you on a ride on mountain trails. There are trails to hike or chairs and swings to sit and enjoy the scenery. The mountain vistas are a nature wonderland. This is the peak time to see the leaves in all their splendor. The House has quite a bit of history and very unique wall treatments on the interior. A large porch greets you as you arrive. There are two parlors on the first floor comfortably furnished. The Bedrooms upstairs are beautifully furnished in the style of the house with tastefully equipped private baths in each. There are snacks placed throughout the house with a coffee, tea and hot chocolate station in the 2nd floor hallway. Breakfast is a tastefully presented delightful experience in a spacious and cozy dining room with a gas fireplace. Our mistake was to only book one night. There is too much to enjoy and take in with a stay of less than three nights.
