This is an amazing spot right on the water at Toledo Bend Lake. Right on Hwy 21 before the Pendleton Bridge, this park is right on the water with covered boat slips and the kids even swim right there at the boat ramp. The cabins are comfortable and stay freezing cold if that's what you like. There's a full-size refrigerator and a stove, sink... complete kitchen even with pots and pans. You don't have to bring anything but food seriously. Towels, bed sheets, it's all there. Kelley (and her husband, Keith) is the owner and she's as friendly as she can be. She really means it that you're like family but she's not intrusive like some family can be. If she's eating when you come by though, she's quick to offer! Across the street from the park there is an huge flea market for between fishing trips during the summer. There's also a great tackle shop right up front with everything from rod/reels to live bait. I've been there for weddings out on the edge of the lake, family reunions, and just to get away. Whether it's sunrise or sunset, the atmosphere is always nice and peaceful, but something is always going on too. Whether you're fishing or swimming or just watching the geese that roam around, the Byrd's Nest is just a comfortable place to be.

The cabin was ok but nothing to write home about. Could’ve been a lot cleaner, and it was clear that the bed linens were not washed and changed after the last guests left. The WiFi did not work at all which was disappointing. The cabin was very old with lots of cracks and holes in walls and ceilings. Needs updating. However it was a comfortable stay for the most part and comes with a full kitchen with dishes, cable tv, and lots of space. Owners were very friendly upon check in. Reserving was an easy process.

Very cool little cabins. Clean and neatly decorated. Staff very friendly and helpful to our needs. Was a windy weekend so fishing was kinda hard ( did catch some crappie though) will come back in the future. Highly recommend this place

What a great get away. The cabins are well maintained and clean. The owners go the extra mile to be accommodating to groups. Highly recommend.
