*note masks are still required for entrance, regardless that state mandates been lifted. just a note statement so u don't miss an opportunity. Not an opinion notice Met the owner at the job yrs ago. Finally decided to go. Was not dissapointed... Looks like a smaller scale vintage candy shop like in home alone from every kids dream. Strange drink combos that all look dangerous yet appealing, ice cream, candy, fudge..... Go crazy and have your sugar rush. Can't believe it's a conveniently located on the lakefront and never knew it existed
Beautiful interior brimming with color and exotic pearls of sugary treats. Staff is very VERY attentive almost too much so - I wonder if this is a byproduct of too many people sneaking free samples, or if they are high on sugar themselves. Folks in here did not seem to understand the concept of mask wearing or social distancing. Prices seem high but it is worth it for your favorite sweets
The Candy Bank is awesome! I found this place by accident and glad I did. They have so many different kinds of candy, some I haven't seen since I was a kid. The fudge is great and the milkshakes are really good too! The staff was very helpful and nice.
Fantastic establishment right off of the St. Tammany Trailhead in Mandeville. This place is a walk back in time GEM! As soon as you walk in you are approached by a very nice staff member who gives you a detailed history on the establishment and a walk through, showing you all of the wonderful candies, Homemade Fudge, malts, shakes and original soda fountain ice cream and soda with whipped cream dream experience drink. There is chocolates of all kinds as well as old fashioned soda pop in the bottle. Lisa, the owner has a wonderful staff that enjoy what they do and makes sure that your experience in their “Bank” leaves you feeling great about returning as soon as possible to try everything they offer and to fulfill that sweet tooth craving!
This place is great. Every kind of candy you could think of. Old fashion candies you may remember from your childhood. Hand made treats as well. A nice sitting area to enjoy ice cream cones. The staff could not have been more helpful. And the owner personally makes the confections. Wonderful hidden gem.
I’m partial to The Candy Bank on SOCO in Austin so I was not expecting much when my kids wanted to go. Wow.....I was surprised. My first test was to see if they had my favorite candy....Chuckles. They did. Second and final test was to see if it was easy to get my kids to leave.....it was not easy. My kids loved it and the staff was very helpful. Great place!!!
I heard about this place from a lady who blogs on Facebook... She shared a video of an employee here following her and her children around the store. The employee was harassing and following the black ladythe blogger who shared her personal experience and her children around the store. In the video I saw a white man and his kids enter the location and were greeted and left alone to shop. All the while the white employee still walked around following the black lady and her children. It made me sick to my stomach and it is so sad. I would not go here especially if you are black ....but hey they may not want black people there anyway.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered samples of the fudge and were not pushy at all. They volunteered a military discount because they saw that I was wearing a usmc jacket. They also serve Bluebell ice cream. Overall experience was very pleasant
This old bank has been given new life with the set up of this old fashioned soda and candy shop. The drinks are made right in front of you. The candy is sold by the pound. Fresh made fudge. The whole experience was delightful.
I've witnessed an employee treat African Americans badly. She followed them around never once smiled or treated them with kindness. Also when they tried to bring it up to them they minimize the bad treatment Don't bring your business here they don't deserve it.
