We'd seen this new place had opened up recently and been meaning to visit for brunch at some point but it was always very crowded. We eventually went for an evening meal and it was uncrowded on the Friday evening we went. We started off with some BBQ chicken wings with a blue cheese sauce. It wasn't particularly spicy but tasty, which was good as some BBQ wings can be way too spicy for our taste. The format of the meals are almost like a fast food joint in that some of the items on the menu include a selection of sides that you can pick and even has sauces for extra. Found that slightly odd for a sit-down full service restaurant. ‍ Mind you that didn't detract from the food. The rotisserie chicken we ordered was incredibly succulent, we were very impressed with that. The chicken sandwich was nice too, but the rotisserie chicken definitely stole the show. The sides were pretty standard, the Caesar salad was probably the best one of the sides we had. And you can never go wrong with waffle fries. Service was efficient and pleasant. So, if you have a hankering for any kind of chicken dish this place is definitely worth trying.
The happy hour deals are incredible! Overall the food is very reasonably priced and most importantly it’s delicious! The chicken was juicy, seasoned perfectly and has a huge variety of sauces it can come with. The sleeper on the menu was the mac n cheese, extremely rich and cheesy. Highly recommend!
Another solid choice for lunch and dinner on this stretch of 3rd! Food was delicious, great for sharing. The house wine is a pretty good deal & delicious. Decor was great, good bar seating and not too loud. Buffalo Cauliflower & cesar salad were excellent, we also went with the half chicken and two sides to share which was perfect. Finished off with cheesecake & coffee. Wait staff is definitely new but they knew what they were doing. If you go, ask for Z to be your waiter - he's fantastic! Excited to try this place again for brunch. Thanks for making our night, Z!
The Chick Inn is a great brunch spot for satisfying all of your chicken cravings! I got the Spicy Ranch sandwich. While I wouldn't say this is the best chicken sandwich I've had, I enjoyed the crispy chicken and Southern style toppings. The sandwich wasn’t spicy at all so don’t worry if you can’t tolerate heat. I'll definitely be back to try the more popular Chicken & Waffles and to take advantage of the great bottomless deal they offer!
Holy cow, this was the most amazing meal. Had the chicken and rice with the spicy vodka sauce. Whoever thought this up is a genius. I’m a huge foodie and was seriously impressed. Chicken melts in your mouth. Also the staff are the happiest and nicest people in NYC. Amazing decor and vibe. Will definitely be back.
Attentive service. Great decor. Came here for lunch and will be adding this to the rotation in Kip’s Bay. Generous portions. The special of half chicken and 2 sides is a winner.
Mediocre-quality southern comfort foodfried chicken primarily served by waitstaff who desperately all need training, in a quant and modern, minimalist setting. Food - The food alone was so-so, the fried chicken patties in our sandwiches were slightly above KFC and Popeyes quality. The waffle fries were also decent but not outrageous. The kicker for us was how they used Julian’s frozen waffles which you can get at any grocery store for the chicken and waffles. People don’t choose to go and dine out just to eat reheated frozen food, unless you’re going to Applebees. Service - the staff was extremely unprepared. We had several different servers take our order, one of which returned 4x just to ask what we had ordered. One of the orders was to have the sauce on one of the sandwiches on the side, which we clarified 4x at the request of the staff, and they still managed to forget to put it in the order notes or rectify the issue when they brought out the food. The runner who actually brought our food out managed to not only spill some of the food off of the plate, but it also managed to spill on to me before falling on to the floor. The runner then grabbed some of the food and I watched them second guess themselves as they were about to put the fries that fell on the floor back on to the plate. Before the meal was over one server asked if we were interested in dessert, which we asked them what was being served for dessert and they actually apathetically responded with “I don’t know actually, its my first day here” before walking away or apologizing for not knowing. Decor - Ambiance is very cute and chic
This is THE spot if you’re in the mood for chic comfort food. To start, we had the chicken cheese balls and I am still thinking about them. Now for the entree…. the spicy ranch chicken sandwich. As someone who has enjoyed many chicken sandwiches, this one was a winner. Chicken was fried to perfection, crispy on the outside but insanely moist on the inside. My father decided to go for a healthier option they have a variety of vegan and lighter choices if that’s your vibe and had the rotisserie chicken. He was raving about it all night. The spicy vodka rice made me rethink all the times I’ve ordered spicy rigatoni because it was a game changer, similar to a risotto but not mushy. The cocktails were creative and delicious!! I tried a couple and my favorite was “Henry’s Cup”. As I mentioned, I tried a couple so I don’t remember exactly what was in it but I do know I sucked it down in like 60 seconds. Ambiance was fantastic and the staff was attentive and warm. Definitely worth checking out!
The Chick Inn is one of the most underrated restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of dining at. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, and the happy hour specials were some of the best I have seen. But what really sets the Chick Inn apart is the food. Every dish I have tried has been absolutely delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and creative, well-balanced flavors. Whether I'm in the mood for a delicious Mac and cheese or a light and healthy salad, the Chick Inn has something to satisfy my cravings. In short, the Chick Inn is an absolute gem of a restaurant that everyone should try. Don't let its under-the-radar status fool you - it is truly a hidden gem and deserves to be recognized for its amazing food, friendly atmosphere, and top-notch service.
I was so excited to try this place. We dined on the second day they were open and the service was impeccable. They did a great job on the renovation. The bartender was fun and witty and the food was superb. I had the buffalo chicken salad to start. Flavorful, not overdressed, and the chicken was very tender. Shared the whole chicken with three sides. Spicy vodka rice was amazing. Not overcooked with a nice little bite. Sauteed spinach done perfectly with nice fresh cloves of garlic. And the waffle fries. What can I say? Absolutely delicious. Nice selection of dipping sauces as well. I also liked that the owner came over to us multiple times. She had so many people who many of her family members helping out. I could not believe on their second day how this place ran seamlessly. This will be in our usual rotation. Happy hour menu is a must. Great deals!
