I arrived late for the last dedication and they had already shut the doors 30 minutes before the start of the meeting. I was helping set up barricades coming out of the Tucson Temple doors when they opened up from inside and one of the men asked me for my recommend. He looked at it, called his partner over and told him to look at my recommend.  They both laughed and said to me... my name is Chad and his name is Palmer and your name is Chad Palmer,  please come inside. They were Elder Uchdorf's assistance and were inspired to let me in. God knows us by name and always answers our prayers in His way and time. God is not dead, His name is

This is the closest meetinghouse to the Tucson Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is currently (June 2017) being used as a parking and origination area during the Temple Open House, which is a time when anyone can enter the temple and see how it is inside before the temple is dedicated. Temples are different from Sunday meetinghouses like this one. Temples are dedicated as the house of the Lord, and thereby anyone can enter as long as they are keeping the commandments of God, including that of baptism by proper authority for the remission of sins and repentance, but the person must obtain a recommendation from a church bishop (it's a little piece of paper registered with the church indicating that the individual possessing the recommend is worthy to enter the temple) in order to be admitted. The temple will be open to recommend holders Tuesday through Saturday starting August 15th, 2017, which will be right after it is dedicated as the house of the Lord on August 13th, 2017. Before the temple is dedicated, anyone can enter to see how the temple is, during the Temple Open House, which will run Monday-Saturday through all of June until June 24th, 2017, after which the temple will be closed for some cleaning and upkeep before its dedication in August. Very beautiful experience.  This temple is a jewel in the desert. Learned a lot about the Mormon faith.
