Story

The Clawson Steakhouse naturally specializes in great steaks but that is the beginning of the wide variety of entrees offered on the menu. Fresh fish is delivered daily and prepared exquisitely. The great food continues with veal, pork, poultry and pasta selections. Chef James Polk will continue to tempt you with an array of appetizers and daily chef's specials.

Five stars! Although we were expecting 50 people in our party and double that amount showed up, the staff at Clawson Steakhouse did a phenomenal job serving us. The waitstaff were excellent and even expressed sympathy and condolences as we were there for a funeral luncheon. The management was very attentive and helpful in accommodating my dietary restrictions. The food was seasoned and cooked skillfully. To top it off, the bathrooms were not only clean but beautifully decorated with hospitable furnishings.

This place is amazing I come here on Friday or Saturday nights. Usually live music. Has a great old school feel with great food and service. I am never rushed and always treated like a valued customer. 

I hope to keep coming here for years to come.

Brought my mother here for her first time here.  She said she always wondered what the inside looked like.  Now she knows.  

Still the same fantastic staff as always. Always greeted with a smile.  As always, I can't wait for my next visit.

Maybe it's the season but today was not as good as other times. French onion soup without any cheese on it at all? Meat was charred on the outside, almost appropriate but middle was a little raw but portion good. So, cooking too fast to get orders out? Mini portion of veggies. Overall, today was okay and I was satisfied but not impressed. Worth a try but wait until after the holidays. Parking was a hassle and I had to park at a business next door because so much was blocked for valet parking. Only one guy working valet so you'd wait forever and that blocked area was rather empty so that's why parking was so difficult. Not nice.

Wasn’t impressed but I have only been here once. Several dishes were dirty including dried lettuce on 3 forks and red lipstick on my wine glass.  Waitress was rude and gave dirty looks when I asked her questions about the menu and didn’t say a word when i said the silverware was dirty....in addition to very slow service.  Took 15 minutes to get a menu.  She told us we better get our IDs out if we wanted drinks and claimed we looked super young so maybe she thought that it was okay to give us attitude? Food was just okay, definitely not worth the money compared to other steakhouses.  My sister’s meal had very chewy steak and it was barely warm.  My meal was warm but not hot.  I am not sure why this place is rated that well but a lot of Clawson restaurants seem to have inflated reviews.

I really wanted to enjoy this place. The Pro's: They have redecorated since a visit many years ago. Soft, neutral colors. They have a live band and dance floor. Very easy listening. My steak was good, although I asked for medium and it came quite rare. The Con's: we were tag teamed by 3 different waitresses. It made for a very choppy experience. Waitress 2 asked us if waitress 1 had taken our order. Drinks were very slow coming. Huge party of about 60 there. Made it very noisy. Wait staff were hustling, but could not quite keep up. One bumped into our table spilling our water glass. Same guy clipped a waitress in the head with a large tray. She was NOT happy.  I got my salad with the wrong dressing. French Onion soup was very unremarkable. My steak, while tasty, was almost sent back because it was blood rare. For the prices, I would have had to get a better overall experience. Not perfect but much better than we had.
