This store is like a breath of fresh air in Charleston. It is well-edited, thoughtful and beautiful. I could not resist buying some items for my home. The service was warm and friendly. It was so nice to chat with someone who was well-versed in the origins of the products and the history of the designers. I love this store. I only wish there was one in VA!

The air changes as soon as I enter through the wide open, iron gate at 54-1/2 Broad.  Just beyond, I am welcomed by a corridor of coolness, dripping with lush vegetation and I immediately forget the bustle of downtown.  Hoping to stay suspended in the delightful energy of  this place, the gentle ease of shop keeper/owner, Erin Connelly, makes it very easy to do.  Such a lovely shop with inventory so well thought out, I find buying one (two or three!) of everything hard to resist.  A must see for locals and visitors alike.

You'll find the most amazing things at this charming boutique! Next time you are in Charleston, you MUST stop by to pick up unique items for you or your friends.  Contrary to the name of the store, you'll find their selection of American made goods for the home are not common at all. You'll want to shop there for every occasion and will be able to do so with ease in-store or online at the-commons.us.

AMAZING! Such a thoughtful collection of things. I want to redo my whole house with The Commons. It is all handmade, special items that are beautiful and different from all the stuff you see everyday. I'm obsessed with the copper spoons and all of the different bowls. Makes me want to have a dinner party.

Don't miss this little gem in Charleston!! Everything about the store has been perfectly curated and you are bound to find items not found else where. Not to mention the store smells awesome which just adds to it's flavor. Whether looking for something for yourself or for a gift this store has it.
