The SE's Most Intimate Music Venue! Live Music, Eclectic 'Moon Made' Cuisine, Handcrafted Cocktails, Organic Coffee - where magical memories are made!

Story

Located in the second oldest commercial structure on the public square of historic Dahlonega, GA, The Crimson Moon Café is unique because it offers a rare opportunity to be up close and personal with the artists who perform on it's tiny eight by ten foot stage. The c.1858 Concert Hall Dining Room allows 100 individuals to be within just 45 feet of the stage - a distance usually fought over/unattainable at larger venues. Patrons leave with both the memorable experience of enjoying a true listening room' and the pleasure of dining in one of the Southeast’s most unique restaurants.

The eclectic menu offers a 'new south' focus plus several vegan or Gluten-Free options; a coffee house featuring organic/shade grown and fairly traded coffee; and a wide selection of beer and wine, and hand-made cocktails. In 15 years of operation the tiny stage has already offered top tier acts such as Indigo Girls/Amy Ray, Darrell Scott, Shawn Mullins, Lee Roy Parnell, Rory Block, The Greencards, John Cowan, Michael Cleveland & The Flame Keepers, The Gibson Brothers, Claire Lynch, Kevn Kinney, The Burrito Brothers, Marshall Crenshaw & The Bottle Rockets, Cracker, John Gorka, Buddy Jewell, Billy Dean, John McCutcheon, Chuck Cannon, Lari White, Sierra Hull, EmiSunshine, Michelle Malone, Col. Bruce Hampton, Billy Strings, and the UK’s Callaghan. – truly making 'The Moon' the Southeast's most intimate of it's 'premier' music venues!

With Sunday Jams for anyone to come join, Tom & Juli Wednesdays, our 'Thirsty Thursday' Open mics, and concerts throughout the weekend, you'll find live music here from Wednesday through Sunday. The Crimson Moon Cafe is truly the Southeast's most intimate music venue – where the creative spirit lives and shines!

The venue is also a memorable place to host a variety of private events. Whether it be a wedding party, birthday party, or business gathering, our Concert Hall & stage offer a unique setting for gathering of up to 75 people, and our 2nd floor's Half Moon Saloon and fresh air porch is perfect for groups of up to 50 people, with its own entrance and restroom. You can choose from our current menu or we can customize one just for your special event, including buffet style dining if desired.

Performance event tickets can be purchased by visiting our website at www.thecrimsonmoon.com, or visiting the historic Parker-Nix building where ‘The Moon’ is located. Private group event reservations can be made by calling 706-864-3982 during the Café’s operating hours or sending an email ( group events only) to [email protected]

Flew in from Texas JUST to visit the Crimson Moon, when Emily Saliers was playing there last month. AMAZING VENUE! Super friendly staff, great food and beer, and if live music is your thing, the Moon is your place! Not a bad seat in the house. Wherever you sit, you are just feet from the performer. We had a WONDERFUL time and will definitely be back again.

If you are looking for a good restaurant with some local up and coming musical talent as well as some well established musicians all combined with a close and intimate feel where the staff are friendly and accommodating, this is the place to go! Wonderful place to sit and relax on the front porch while enjoying an amazing BLT sandwich for lunch or their award winning dip appetizer before a delicious dinner while looking out over the Dahlonega square! Or, if you simply want a delicious cup of coffee so you can sit in the "Back Room Bar" and enjoy a book or friendly conversation on the couch, this is the spot! I would highly recommend The Crimson Moon.

The crimson moon has been in business for quite a number of years. Excellent atmosphere and a chill vibe. Best coffee around and probably the best chai I've ever tasted. Live music and wonderful food.

We planned to pass through Dahlonega and a friend recommended the Crimson moon. It happened to be Tuesday and it was their off-day. We came back on Thursday and had a delicious lunch. I had the French dip which was absolutely delicious and my wife had the grilled cheese. One of the cooks stopped by and talked with us and our kids. We both also added specialty lattes for the road which were also delicious! We will absolutely be back in the future!
