My sister and I love the Dodge Co. area, and go on a couple of sister's weekends a year. We took a chance at the Dartford Inn, even though it was a bit non-standard, as far as motels/hotels go. We stayed a long weekend last October ('12) and loved it! There weren't many others in rooms, which was fine with us. It's what one might consider a bit of roughing it in the sense that you have to bring your own soap & shampoo, etc. Towels, all cooking utensils, a stove, small fridge, and all other amenities are hidden behind these cool, retro cabinet doors in the small kitchen. The heat worked fine; the shower was adequate, but the views of the river were awesome! This place is so neat! It was built out of re-purposed telephone poles in the late 1940's, and apparently has been a pretty popular stay-over location for hunters, golfers & fishermen, as well as sisters out exploring the world together. I was a little disappointed at the spring rates (we're leaving tomorrow for another weekend there), vs. the "out of season" rates; too much of a jump in price for what you're getting. All in all, we were charmed, and we're returning for the spring season with nothing but excitement!

Went here for a weekend golf trip, this was a great place for us to stay. Pool, grills, bonfire pits, breakfast, are all available for free and the owners are very nice and accommodating people. Great river fishing as well

Overall this place gets 4.99 stars. This was my 2nd time here and like my first stay the owners were friendly, knowledgeable about the place and it's history. You should know this is not a ritzy sparkle and shine (hilton or whatever hotel) kind of place but is still very much worth your visit. I found some of the antiques around the place pretty interesting. The continental breakfast was good. The vintage kitchenettes in the rooms are cool in themselves if you can appreciate cool functioning antique americana. This place has that rustic up north feel but its not up north. I know myself the wife and the kid were comfortable and right at home. There's a Pool, Fire pits, Playground equipment, Kitchen and utensils (pots pans plates cups silverware etc) in your room..... Its on the river (for fishing). Pet friendly. (1st visit)And if you and your friends have to many drinks at the bar and golf course they'll come pick you up in a Volvo Limo. NO CAB AND NO D.U.I. Basicslly If your staying in the berlin/green lake/ ripon area you shouldn't overlook this little fun spot when you need a hotel/motel.

We went to visit my brother in Greenlark, WI. While there we stayed at the Dartford Inn. It was a lovely little resort. I had my two grandchildren with me. They loved being able to swim in the pool. I loved that we did not have to go purchase water infatable for them, there were some available for use. There also was a childrens area that I adored since we did not have to leave for them to go to a park. The rooms were very clean and the owners were very friendly. They offered to take the boys fishing in the river behind it. We had a very enjoyable 6 day stay and hated to leave. I plan on going back again in the future and will be hopefully staying there again.
