A month ago my husband decided he had some hairdressing talent that he was going to put to use on our 1 year old son.. Obviously he has no talent in cutting hair what so ever but I let him do it. We are now on our summer roadtrip with our 2 babies and while waiting to be served at the restaurant next door to this salon in Idaho Falls I figured out I was going to ask them if they could fix my baby boy's hair. They did it right away and didn't even ask me to pay for it. I thought it was really nice and generous of them.. And now my little Sacha looks like a movie star.. ;-)

My first experience was better than the visit today. My hair is noticeably and significantly darker (which I did not request). I did not have highlights done, only root touch up. Needless to say the darkening is not subtle. My hair looks completely different- and not in a "I love my hair" way. I will be seeking out a different salon because for the insanely high price one is charged, the results should be near perfect. If you enjoy paying for a lot of extras you truly  don't NEED, by all means, march right in. If you don't want to feel like your taking your car in for an oil change only to walk away paying for all the up sales- do not come here.

Thanks Defining Line Salon! I work in a suit and tie office environment so it is important to look presentable everyday. However, I am not a hair-guru. I just want a hair cut that looks professional and trendy. The Defining Line Salon gets it right every time. In fact, my hair doesn't even look like a "new haircut" when I walk out the door.  I think results here are so great because the stylists are more skilled than most. Pricing is similar to other salons but the quality exceeds all other salons I have visited in both Idaho and Utah so it is definitely worth the money. Hair products always work well too.

I came in and the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, the prices are outrageous!!! The gal I had was chipper and a sweet heart BUT was not a good listener. She is the owner, Amy. She pushed her ideas on me by showing me a picture of what she wanted to do instead of taking my pictures that I brought in with me. I told her I didn't want blond and I got blond. I asked her what other colors she could show me, she never showed me anything as far as other options. I also told her I didn't want bangs, I got them. She took a liberty there. The hair cut was to fix the asymmetrical one I had previous and that was it. The receipt says a quick cut, she gave me a half a hair cut, Weird. The communication was hard for me cause she kept talking about technique and stuff I don't understand or care about the whole time during the supposed consolation that was to be very short. It took an hour. I cried when I got home cause she didn't listen. And because of the way she colored my hair or cut it her advice to me is that I need to wear it wavy or people will see the inconsistency of the color and cut. Who tells you that you can only wear your hair one way?... Only if she messed it up right? I am not a complainer and I hate having to tell someone I don't like what they did. But this was bad and I am out $100.00. Sad day....:(

This Salon is high-end and has sneaking gimmicks making it way over priced. I've had my hair done in Boston with Aveda products for nearly HALF the price this salon was trying to get. Surely their rent can't compare to downtown Boston prices. I don't understand the obvious price gouging at this salon, it's Idaho Falls not L.A or NYC ! I can't believe they try and get away with it. 

 That being said, they do know how to cut hair and I feel that my $55 hair cut was what I hoped for and expected. 

If you're sensible about spending money, don't bother going here for color...they charge "per gram" plus an application fee! what? This ends up being over $170 just for color and then, of course, they push expensive product before the haircut even starts. I would return if they got real with their prices.
