Story

A career as a highly skilled commercial/industrial electrician isn’t for everyone. Our workplace is generally found in an uncontrolled environment that is exposed to the cold of winter, the rains of spring, the heat of summer, and the temperate weather of autumn. As craftsman we travel all across central Ohio to ply our trade, a year-long construction project to us is a long term proposition.

But if you love working with both your hands and your brain, you enjoy the outdoors – and you have a desire to grow – The Electrical Trades Center just may be the place for you.

We offer:
- Job Assignments, not just referrals, but placements with responsible employer/contractors.
- Multi-Contractor Employment Pool – The Electrical Trades Center has a contractual arrangement with over 50 responsible contractors to keep you employed. Your future is not tied to the fortunes of one firm

Very rude and unprofessional. After contacting "The Electrical Trades Center" I felt really stupid. I contacted them to inquire about their training program and to get general information. My wife and I are changing careers and we both have disabilities. I contacted them inquiring about about becoming a electrician and to see if it was possible for a low vision individual. I had already done some research and I wanted to reach out to see if they have worked with any else with a disability or if a women, who has never done a trade before, if it would be a suitable fit. Unfortunately, I was met with "You should do your own Google search, I do not have time to talk to you about it." I felt like I was scorned for asking questions as if I was wasting her time, however, I just wanted to inquire about the details that I was unable to find out about. I felt like the person who answered the phone was indifferent and I felt insulted, but you get used to that being disabled. During our conversation, I was insulted with "We do not normally do that and we can not advise you on the training, you should read our website." I told her I was on the website currently, and did not have much info about on the job training or the physical limitations. I contacted them because Google did not have much information about low vision individuals becoming inside wireman. I was told to do my own research. Overall, a very poor experience over the phone. If that is the attitude, professionalism and mindset of their office personal, I question their ability to train others and I will more than likely pass on this place.
