Dr. Milstein did a great job on my Lasik surgery. My only complaint is feeling like they are judging me for not wanting the mono-vision surgery. Every time I go in for my check ups, someone makes a comment about it. "It's such a shame, mono-vision is so amazing." My most recent visit the tech or nurse (I don't know her title) made the comment "you're going to get tired of needing reading glasses" in a condescending tone. Mono-vision is NOT for everyone. Pushing it so hard is off-putting. My goal was to not be dependent on glasses for my day to day life (driving, walking, etc.). I never had the expectation of not needing reading glasses. I just didn't want to have to spend 200+ dollars a year on prescription glasses. With the mono-vision, I STILL couldn't read without reading glasses, but the cheap readers you can get at Walgreens weren't right, because I had 2 different prescriptions in my eyes. Now that I have the full distant vision surgery, regular readers work great, and I don't feel like I have one eye blurry all the time. Trust your patients to know what they want. Isn't that the point of the 1-week mono-vision trial? I stated I didn't like it, and was judged from then on. Other than that, I'm thrilled to be able to get out of bed and see. I don't have to worry about my glasses breaking and needing someone to give me a ride home because I can't drive. I was legally blind without my glasses before the surgery. I'm so happy to be able to see!

Dr. Bernard Milstein did my Lasik surgery back in 2009. When I went for the consultation, I told him my goal was to be able to see the numbers in a phone book without glasses. After the exam, he told me that I just needed surgery on my left eye (mono-vision) because my right eye was "perfect". I had the surgery and was amazed at the result. My vision was perfect and I could read the numbers in the phone book. I recently had a followup appointment and my vision is the same, still perfect, after 5 years. I could never trust anyone else but Dr. Milstein with my eyes
