Visited this place for the first time today, and we all really enjoyed it. The restaurant itself looks fantastic; you can tell they did an amazing job renovating the building. The ambiance was great, with good music and good atmosphere. Our server was very kind, friendly, and attentive. She made a minor mistake (brought me the wrong soup), but corrected it immediately and very quickly once I pointed out the error with no arguing or complaining. The food was also great. I highly recommend the french onion soup—which is some of the best I've ever had (even better than Chud's, for the Fremont locals). I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm back in town! The only downside is that the menu is not very vegetarian friendly; if you're not a meat eater, plan to have a salad (which was, however, phenomenal!).

I am originally from Fremont so I know that finding nice places to eat is difficult to find in town. The environment was nice, food was fantastic and at good prices. Unfortunately the horrible service does not make up for this. I am a restaurant manager in a large city myself and know a good place when I see a good establishment. Even though everything was good, the service was a make it or break it deal. Waited 20 minutes for a martini that was so-so. Would have gotten more of them but I was scared that if I order one that I would have to be there till close. Had my card out ready to pay because we were there for so long already waiting for everything, when I handed my card to the server she said “oh no I will be back to take it” after I clearly stated that I was ready now to leave. Overall good food and prices but if you go make sure you are ready to wait for an uncomfortably long time for whatever you are getting. It is somewhat disappointing when everything is so good but the service was so bad it ruins everything. Most likely will not return because of this experience.

This was our second visit to the Garrison and it was another great experience. The menu was broad enough that it was hard to decide what to order. My wife got the Garrison Burger and was very pleased. I got a well prepared and well presented Caesar Salad with grilled salmon. For me, a high point of the visit is the broad selection of craft beers available. I can never decide on just one and end up ordering a flight. In my opinion, the Garrison is the best dining experience in Fremont. I recommend it to friends and look forward to dining there again.

Very nice cozy atmosphere, with a square shaped bar with stools. Adjoining dinning area with tables and booth dinning. Very cool lighting around the bar and booths. There's an upstairs dinning room, but did not go up to see. Good beer selection and they made a good Long Island Ice Tea. The food was good with nice portions for the money. The onion rings were huge but they were mostly breading. They served Hillbilly Green Beans with our entrees. Big green beans with that big heavy thick string down the back. Besides those couple of things, everything else was good. The service was friendly and on the ball with filling our water and taking care of any questions or needs.

Cool old building with modern/industrial decor. Excellent food and a relaxed, semi-upscale atmosphere. Easy parking and a downtown location make this a great place for dinner out with a group, or date night.
