This Maine girl (who now lives is DE and hasn't been home in awhile) has been blown away by the tenderness of the Calamari and the clams in their New England Clam Chowder is worth winning 8 years in a row!! I haven't had seafood that makes me feel like I am home since moving away in 06'. You will want to get the quart to go, it IS worth it. (I came in, got it to go twice--lets hope it makes it home to DE)
 The drinks are great, staff is friendly, you'll be glad you came! Thanks Gateway, you're amazing.

Cool place,  Good food and Great to watch a game.   Bartenders start off good but they always seem get  attitudes as the bar gets busy.  Most likey due to being short staffed but that's not the customers fault.

Had a great time with friends Friday night at The Gateway.  Jimmy Brogen Trio were very entertaining.  It all came to a screeching halt when our waitress, Kelsey, asked me directly about her tip.  I didn't have anything to do with paying the bill so I directed Kelsey to who did.  Now....  Without getting into too much detail...  kelsey, apparently, was not happy with her tip on a $302 tab, which I found out later was just about 18%.  When the girls (they were the bill payers) approached Kelsey in regards to the tip, Kelsey told one of the girls to eff off!  Unbelievable!  This waitress had the audacity to challenge a very generous gratuity.  When i asked for management I was told there wasn't a manager on duty.  Really!?  Well that explains everything.  If there truly is not a MOD available to handle customer concerns, whether good or bad, then I have to tell you that The Gateway is a waste of your time and money.  They don't care about you and it screams through their wait staff.  I will never go back nor recommend.  Ron, the owner, should tell Kelsey to hit the road.

Great New England clam chowder, exceptional fried calamari, and good cocktails.  I don't have a ton of comparison for chowder as I rarely find any that I'm willing to eat.  Calamari I try everywhere; theirs was cooked to absolute perfection.

A long standing watering hole with good old comfort food. If you like clam chowder this is your place. Sandwiches,  pizza, wings and of course booze. Plenty of tv's for watching sports. Plenty of parking.
