I can't say enough good things about Goddard in Mechanicsville.  Our son attended from 16 months until he was 4 years old - we only left because we moved to the other side of town.  The teachers are dedicated, kind, and creative.  Kathy and Steve create a really welcoming and fun atmosphere, and it's clear that the staff enjoy their work.  There is a real dedication to  both loving each child as an individual and to learning through play.  Lots of stories, songs, art projects, and playtime.  We loved all of the special events and parties - our son looked forward to them, and they were a chance to get to know the other families.  

Nuts and bolts stuff:  The facility is modern and spotless.  Excellent communication between the school, the teachers, and the parents - daily email updates, phone calls whenever there was a bump or a bruise or a fever.  Students bring their own lunch, but snacks are provided - I liked being able to feed our son as I chose.  Very accountable in terms of administering medications, etc.  

But most of all - I felt that our son's time at Goddard was so good for him because he was part of a loving community.  I'll always be grateful to them!

Tonight the last of our three girls graduated from The Goddard School in Mechanicsville, and it was a bittersweet evening for sure.  For three years, we have grown to love the folks at this wonderful pre-school, and our kids have grown in social skills and in education, but most importantly in love.  Everyone, from the non-teaching staff to the teachers to the directors and all the way to the owners, have come to know our girls and have shared in their growth.  These people have not only been their teachers, but their friends and ours.  Our older two girls loved to go pick up their youngest sister this past year, because they could see their old teachers, get hugs and remember the joyful times they had in those walls.  What a special place The Goddard School in Mechanicsville has been to our family!  Thank you all for your love, and for preparing our girls for public school and the world!
