Story

Welcome to The Gold Shop. We have proudly been serving the CSRA for over 30 years. It is our goal to provide you with quality merchandise, affordable pricing, a knowledgeable staff, and the best possible repair services.

Leonard “Tank” Tankersley was born and raised in Appling, GA. After graduating from Harlem High School, he attended Georgia Tech and got his degree in Engineering. He began The Gold Shop purely by accident. After years of working for the state of Georgia as an engineer, he stumbled into the jewelry business when he started buying gold, silver and diamonds for another master jeweler in town. When people began asking him to repair their jewelry, he sat down at the bench and learned the trade from a Master Jeweler. Things were going so well for him that he opened his own store. The rest, as they say, is history. He enjoys his customers, and loves talking with and helping each of them.

Kristin has been the manager of The Gold Shop for over twenty years. She is knowledgeable of product availability, and if we don’t have it in stock, she can find just about any jewelry item that you may be looking to purchase. She can help you design your next ring, change your watch battery, or examine your broken jewelry to determine what it will take to repair your item. Come in and let her help you today.

Robert has been with the store for over eight years. He began as a part time customer service representative, and has now developed into an excellent jeweler. He is always ready to help you with your purchasing needs, but spends much of his time on the repair bench. He will repair your jewelry as if it was his own, and will usually have it ready for you the following afternoon
