About

The Good Life Cafe in Park Rapids invites you to experience fresh American cuisine made from scratch each day.

Story

Let us introduce ourselves. The Good Life Cafe was established in June 2009 by sisters Maggie Wiederin and Molly Luther with Molly's husband, Luke. We built the cafe with our own hands, a shoestring budget, and the support of our fantastic families. It is a labor of love and we hope you'll love it, too.

Since the very beginning of our little cafe, we've strived to offer our guests innovative specials, outstanding service, and a modern take on classic American comfort food. Our staff is exceptionally caring and hard-working. We try our absolute best to make your feel comfortable and help you have a remarkable experience.

As far as food goes, we try to make as much from scratch as we can, which means we have truly signature dishes you won't be able to find anywhere else. Try our Gouda Bacon Mac and Cheese, the Spice Walnut and Cranberry Salad, or the Wild Rice Hotdish – they are just a few of our most popular items. Oh...and we have a full bar, not necessarily typical for a "cafe" but we're not much for typical anyways. Come take a seat at our table.

A great little Diner in the North Country with the quality and integrity of some of the finest that the Metro has to offer. Bison Meatloaf is amazing... However the Rosemary sauce is a little overwhelming. Our waiter, Tony was energetic and knowledgeable. He shows a passion in the food that he serves and a pride in the chefs that prepared it. Paring of good wines are important, but so does the pairing of beers and ales. This comes with time. Let's see what the next visit brings! We'll done!

This was the best small town restaurant that I been to in years. And I mean a lot of years. It was later in the afternoon so it was fairly quiet. The staff (Tina) was very friendly and helpful. We had a group of six, and we all had a different meal. Fish taco's, Pulled Pork and Apple slaw, Chirizo/hamburger (this was mixed into a patty ), a hamburger with Thai peanut butter, a Bacon burger with Artichoke sauce, and a Cucumber beet burger. (This burger was to die for. I have had veggie burgers in the past but this one was unbelievably great.) It was a bean burger with crispy beet chips and a small amount of fresh cucumber. The sweet potato fries had a Maple dipping sauce that was awesome. We also had the fudge Cheesecake, It was so good we ordered another for the table. This place had a great modern twist on the old classics. We could use a restaurant like this in the cities. Thanks for the great food!

This place has the best breakfast I have ever had in Minnesota. All the food tastes extremely fresh. To start off the coffee had great flavor, the eggs were full of flavor, the hash browns were slightly crispy and fresh not greasy, the toast tastes homemade and paired with the peach rhubarb basil jam, it was fantastic. The best part- THE PANCAKES!!! The pancakes were light and full bodied with a fresh vanilla flavor and paired with the fresh pure maple syrup they offer- the pancakes made this meal absolutely perfect. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Found this place online and thought it looked good. We were blown away. Incredibly courteous and thoughtful staff. Well decorated with unisex and handicap accessible bathrooms (one of which has a changing table). And our food was delicious. Generous portions, but not over the top. Please go to this incredible spot!

I spent one night in Park Rapids and asked locals where I should go for excellent food, with great wine...many suggested the Good Life Cafe. I was intrigued... I ordered their fish tacos and they were excellent! Made with perfectly deep fried cod, expertly seasoned and breaded. These rivaled any fish tacos we have ordered in the Caribbean. The cod was light and flakey; the taco accompaniments were fresh and flavorful. Stopping at the Good Life Cafe in Park Rapids MN was a delightful experience...if you are ever in the area give The Good Life a try! FYI: I'm not a professional foodie...I really truly enjoyed my dining experience!
