About

Our own wines and hard ciders, local craft beers, farm fresh food cart, u-pick/we-pick fruit, u-cut flower fields, gift shop, local art, and stellar views!

Story

The Gorge White House features Columbia Gorge wines & craft beers, fruit, flowers, art & more in a historic home on a century old working farm. We are located just 4 miles south of Hood River, Oregon on Highway 35 (the Mt. Hood Scenic By-way) in the heart of Hood River’s fruit orchards.

The Columbia Gorge is an up and coming wine area with over 35 wineries. We are proud to feature our own award winning Heritage Pear wine and a large wine selection from Gorge wineries in our tasting room. We call ourselves the “chamber of commerce” of Gorge wine. We also offer 3 Gorge micro-brews on any given day.

We proudly support our local art scene and change our gallery each month. On the first Sunday of each month we host an art reception for our featured artist or photographer. You often find plein air artists capturing the vistas from our property!

We have u-cut fields of flowers which begin blooming in late April with our daffodils and continue through first frost with our kodachrome dahlia fields. We offer u-pick strawberries, blueberries & table grapes from our fields and sell the best of seasonally available Gorge grown fruit. We also feature Oregon gourmet cheeses, meats and sauces.

Come enjoy our patio gardens, a glass of Gorge wine, fresh local fruit, beautiful views of Mt Hood & Mt Adams & relax in an era of days gone by!

Beautiful location! There is a field of you-pick flowers you can walk through and a gift shop. It also has a great little bar area and a food truck. I didn't get a chance to try either this trip, but I definitely want to go back.

I'd give it 6 stars if I could, this place was great. Amazing place; the food, the drinks, the fruit picking and the beautiful views are all worth the trip. We went on a busy Sunday, at noon in July. The guys at the food truck told us that it was an hour wait if we got something off the grill. So, we ordered the 3 flatbreads, which only took 10 minutes, and were super good. We had some wine and cider, which were both delicious. After lunch, we picked blueberries and blackberries, which were in season. The price was very affordable.

I love The Gorge White House! I take all my visitors here because everything is just on point. The ciders and wine are all delicious! My favorite cider is the cherry, and my favorite wine is the heritage pear blueberry. On a clear day you can enjoy the views of Mt. Hood from the patio or sitting on the porch. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside to enjoy the place during any weather. They also sell these amazing gluten free snacks called Chedz that come in a variety of flavors. They have a flower field where you can pick your own flowers and a little food cart that sells some delicious pizza, burgers, and sandwiches.

Nice little place to stop on the "fruit loop". I don't consume alcohol. But the other adults in the group said the wine tasting was good. I personally enjoyed walking through the HUGE fields of flowers out back, photographing the hummingbirds, and taking in the views of Mt. Hood.

Wow!! Two gorgeous mountain views, hills, and beautiful fields of flowers. The cider was delicious. We sampled all of them for $8!! The cafe food is pretty good. Overall experience was stunning. Ready to visit again!
