The queue at The Halal Guys might be long, but it's a clear sign you're in for a treat. The wait is a small price for the culinary delight that awaits. Each bite of their succulent, perfectly spiced meats, complemented by their iconic sauces, is a testament to why this place has earned its legendary status. It's not just about the food; it's the vibrant atmosphere that captivates you, making every minute spent in line worth it. In short, The Halal Guys delivers an unforgettable dining experience that's well worth the wait.
Had to try the famous halal guys to see if it was worth the hype. There’s a line usually every time but they do things quick so the wait isn’t even long. I got the chicken platter, beef gyro and falafel and it only came up to around $20 ish dollars so that’s not bad! The amount of food we get is def worth the price. The food itself is very good and would def try again if I’m around. Worth the hype.
Recently during my trip to NYC, I had visited, ‘The Halal Guys' yellow food cart, in Manhattan, New York, which is an iconic destination that lives up to its reputation. Renowned for their flavorful halal dishes, the menu features a combination of grilled chicken or gyro meat, rice, and salad, complemented by their famous white and hot sauces. Tried their famous gyro, a standout item on their menu, had delicious flavors and with the generous portions satisfying hunger. Despite the typical wait of half an hour to an hour, the experience seems well worth it. The efficient service is noteworthy, considering the high demand for their delectable offerings. The staff manages the long queues effectively, ensuring that customers receive their orders promptly. The wait time becomes a testament to the food's popularity, adding an element of anticipation to the overall experience. The awesome experience of eating The Halal Guys lies not only in the quality of their food but also in the unique atmosphere created by the bustling street scene of Manhattan. The food cart has become a cultural landmark, drawing locals and tourists alike to savor the mouthwatering gyro and other offerings. Overall, the Halal Guys food cart in Manhattan delivers not just a meal but an experience, blending exceptional taste, efficient service, and the vibrant energy of the city into a memorable experience. Highly recommended.
Such simple menu, but so well-cooked that it melts in your mouth. Generous portions that make up a perfect bowl of ingredients. The magic sauces are the secret elements that add to the overall flavor profile. We were lucky to not get crowds during the lunch hour but when we passed by later in the evening, we saw long lines. The people who serve the food are quite un-amusing and want you to keep moving, but who cares when you are getting such good tasting food! One thing we struggled with was a place to sit after picking up our food.
I got the beef and lamb combo with rice. The food was sizzling hot and yummy And there was enough food for 2. Really enjoyed it!Food: 5/5
The food is good as usual. The rice had a texture, and the meat was tender, free of unwanted parts. They are using the white and hot sauce packets now and it could be messy when you spread them. The guy would give you everything that was supposed to come with the platter. Anything beyond that would drive him impatient, considering the volume of the customers he had to deal with everyday, it is understandable. Vegetarian options: Falafel is vegetarian, but don't expect they have a clear separation between vegetarian and meat items. Dietary restrictions: They will not have time to pay attention to dietary restrictions Parking: Parking or driving are painful here
I was visiting from Chicago, so I've had Halal Guys before, but was told the NY location beats all. The rumors are all true! Despite being a food truck and there being a long line of customers, the food was phenomenal. The location is near everything Times Square and was just an 8-minute walk from Central Park. The workers were so sweet and kind. I hope to visit again soon!
Worth the wait to try this at least once. The gyro platter was delicious and a huge serving, so you can easily share it between two people. The prices are still super reasonable too given how popular they've become, and they're very friendly when serving.Food: 5/5
Took a chicken gyro small for 9 dollars, as dinner. Got it back to the hotel, reheated and had it. Felt fresh and well made. Going back to the experience of picking up dinner, the queue at 6pm was not more than a 2 minute wait with a prep time of a minute. The hype seemed real - but as an Indian living in Hyderabad - I thought the food was only okay. Definitely good for the money and it's intended experience, but not mind blowing like the hype had me believe. Okay to try once, so that you can make the claim!
I tried Halal Guys in New York after hearing about their street food legacy and had high expectations. However, after a long wait of almost 45 minutes, I was disappointed to find my order overly salty. Despite this, the quantity of the food was more, especially for the price of $12.Food: 3/5
