Beware of The Hang Up – they’ll hang you out to dry. They waited until the last minute to get our project done (it took a month for two frames), and it was not done as instructed. Because there was no time left, I had to take it “as is” and had to pay on the spot, or I would not have had my frames for my event. His estimate was $600. He charged me $815; I had two frames so he charged me $430 over (a 33% increase) what he had “estimated.” $1,663 for two plaques not even done as requested. When I questioned him, he said when he gave me his estimate “he would have had no idea of the final total.” And, when I questioned why it wasn’t done according to my request, he told me if I wanted it done exactly as I had requested it, it would have cost even more money. There was no notification of this at our first meeting, and no notification of increased charges until I came to pick them up. It is immoral how he treated our nonprofit organization and took advantage of us. They should be ashamed of their business practices.
