My group had fun here.  

The indoor and outdoor spaces are both open and spacious with ample seating. Live music is played outdoors (evenings), but easily heard inside through a decent sound system. During band breaks they have an entertainer who encourages guest interaction. 

The signature drinks are good and priced as expected. The food quality is reasonable, not exceptional, but portion sizes are fair. 

I recommend checking it out, especially with a few or more friends.

Awesome place located on the beach! Good food, service and entertainment! It is a family restaurant that have various activities for kids outside while you dine, good music including DJ and live. Great views of the gulf! A must visit in you're in the gulf shores /orange beach area!

The breakfast outside on a morning at the beach can't be beat. The prices are a bit high but the atmosphere is great. The food is excellent & service is great. Cool decorations throughout...even in the bathroom. For lunch and breakfast, crowds are no big issue but night life is busy. This is great unless you are looking for a quiet meal. The atmosphere in the early evenings is fun & bringing the kids here is fine. There are cool vendors with fun temp tattoos and souvenirs. The latter evening/night turns into more of a party crowd. Overall, the place is great.

stars for location and atmosphere. Right in the center of everything in gulf shores. Great place for concerts too. Not 5 stars because of food and drinks. A little pricey on the food. Quality is pretty good, especially of you want fried food. Drinks ok. We all ordered mixed in-house specials. Let's just say the bartenders have a weak pour.

The Hangout is nothing like what it used to be. Terrible food selection, smaller portions, less options and nothing like good beach side seafood that it was. Horrible atmosphere during dinner, set up like we were at a kids bop concert at 9 pm, live band was terrible and too loud during dinner. Do not recommend anymore. Should definitely go back to the old style.
