As a former employee here at the Harrison Market (as of 20/12/17), i can inform you from an inside source that this place is utter trash, if i had to option to give it a 0/5 i would not hesitate. The place is cleaned (poorly) once at night by a worker from behind the deli who uses a dust mop to effortlessly sweep the floor and thats all. Two of the 3 current managers are genuinely nice people, Edgar, on the other hand, is the absolute scum of the earth. Edgar is hands down the most disgusting, rude, apathetic and idiotic man i have ever met and to make matters worse he is a downright creep to say the least. It is an unfathomable number of times i have seen Edgar peering down at EVERY (key word every) woman's behind checking out in line, it is utterly revolting seeing that kind of behavior coming from not only a member of the managerial staff but also a married man with children. During my first couple of weeks working here i just assumed he was cautious to open up to his employees but i later found that with every interaction i had with this man his personal vendetta against me grew larger. I am yet to hear from a male employee that Edgar has shown signs of kindness to them either, instead they tell the same story about how they believe he hates them. The disrespect this man shows is uncanny, i have been told by colleagues and actually heard first hand on number of different occasions where Edgar has (not so subtly) muttered things such as "f**king id**t" or even "f**k you" for simply asking for his help with a customer. Another point to add is you may have noticed how i spoke about my male colleagues only... yes, as you'd expect Edgar is a cheerful, funny guy when it comes to talking/interacting/helping with ANY of his female employees. (TRUE STORY) Just to put this to the test a female colleague and i wanted to see how irrational Edgar really is, and so she decided to go have a conversation with Edgar, cheerful as always Edgar was laughing, noticing this to be the perfect moment i walked over and attempted joined the conversation. His reaction was priceless; his smile almost immediately diminished into a frown as he told me and i quote "why aren't you at your register, you think you can just walk around freely because there's no customers?". I'll never forget this moment as it couldn't have confirmed our observations any better. One final story i feel i must include was a time i was just leaving the bathroom as Edgar barged past me and muttered something under his breath, normal at this point, and i can remember the absolute reek of cigarettes wafting off of him, i proceeded to put on my jacket just outside the bathroom and get my belongings together and when i turn, Edgar simply backs away from the urinal, zips up his pants, turns and walks straight out of the bathroom. Not only was this beyond horrifying coming from the manager but the simple irony of it all, there is maybe 5 or more signs all around the bathroom with the words "ALL EMPLOYEES MUST WASH HANDS BEFORE RETURNING TO WORK" printed on them. Every day this man finds a new way to show me how awful he really is. In conclusion, feel free to shop at the Harrison Market (AT YOUR OWN RISK) and a few things to keep in mind are; - Sale labels are wrong almost 50% of the time so don't feel stupid when you're told the item is not on sale although you clearly saw it was. - Our so called "fresh fruit" has most probably been dropped on the ground or has been sitting on the shelf for weeks. - Please don't get mad at the cashiers, we are using machines from the 1990's, and when we get even the most simple error we have to retrieve the "Manager's key" to override the system of the failure and i'm sure you know by now what that means, yes, asking the Big Bad Wolf upstairs, Edgar.

This store is located conveniently but the prices are high & the selection is limited.

Decent smallish grocery for upper-mid scale items. Not a lot of gourmet offerings, but neither many bargains. Staff is nice but not attentive. They are helpful if asked, but mostly leave you to your own (which I like)

Not a big selection, but that can be overlooked. Staff can be unfriendly and/or unhelpful.

Horrible experience, terrible management. They mislabeled a 4/5 deal for pasta and tried to overcharge me to nearly double the price (9 bucks). I mentioned it at checkout. Thankfully there was no one behind me since it was late, so we went back to the aisle to check. I showed them that I had picked the pastas in the 4/5 and I thought that was that. We walked back, kept going through checkout, but the price hadn't been updated. I mention it again. She says now, that one of the pastas (as she pulls it out) is not in the deal, arbitrarily. Poor communication. At this point, there is a line of 4 people, and the manager is angrily hovering, but not jumping in to say anything. So I had to run back and grab another pasta, despite their misrepresentative advertising, and finish checking out. Frustrating and an unpleasant shopping experience. To be fair, usually it's average service, this was a one time thing. Oh, but the fruits are almost always moldy. Stay away from the strawberries / blueberries by the front. I love berries, but I go check them every time and only 1 out of about 20-30 times in the past year have I found fresh berries. Lots of mold, really disgusting. Please fix that so I can stop buying frozen berries. Thanks
