This is farm fresh food done right. Casual dining with well prepared breakfast meals, large salads, burgers and other sandwiches. The menu items are well thought out and well prepared. The coffee and teas are good too. Our service was very good. A popular spot with lots of seating. It can be a little loud when there's a full house. But its still worth it.
I rate this restaurant 3 stars mainly due to the pleasant customer service and contemporary atmosphere. As for the food, the menu sounds fantastic, but the taste of the food did not match the excitement of the menu. The food is very unique and filling but just doesn’t taste all that amazing. Left me and my guest disappointed. I had the Hangover Sandwich which was a very light sandwich, but I thought it would have been hearty. Their diced potatoes were more like crispy french fries. My mother had the Mount Biscuit skillet which was covered with overly thick and dark gravy…. And was bedded with eggs, biscuits, hash browns, bacon and peppers. She was also dissatisfied with her burnt bacon. I even gave her meal a try and it wasn’t pleasing at all. She frowned the entire time eating her food. I say this to say that uniqueness in food is great, but don’t lose the art of flavoring food. I don’t mind coming here again but it won’t be by my own choice. I would probably stick with oatmeal or something small and light.
This was such an awesome culinary experience! Not only was the food amazing but the customer service was top notch also! I even got a chance to speak with one of the owners. If u haven't been, make it your business to go!
We’ve ate at the Palos location multiple times, this was our first time at the Munster location. Staff was friendly. Food was hot despite smaller portions and coffee was strong. Overall, a good experience with friendly staff and attentive service.
Went to this restaurant and had a horrible experience!!! I ordered the chicken and waffles. When my food came out the chicken was cold and hard and ha no flavor! I told my waitress and her first comment was “I’ll get the manager but they normally don’t take anything off the bill you’ll still be charged for the food!” So now I’m looking like if this food is cold I’ll need some fresh made or my money back. The manager come over I tell her the same thing and she asks “ do you want me to bag it up to go?” I’m like no ma’am just take it off my bill please. Mind you on top of that i still paid a 94 dollar bill so the money is definitely not the problem it’s the service! I expect hot food when I’m paying 17 dollars for a meal!
Scotch eggs were delicious The breakfast tacos are the best I’ve ever had. I could eat spoonfuls of the mango salsa and creamy avacado sauce. One of the best breakfast/lunch places in NWI Indiana!
I’m so disappointed.. second time I come here.. this time they put the monkey bread in the microwave! It cooled and got hard as a rock! I returned it and the replacement was also microwaved! The biscuits, gravy and chicken was microwaved!! It was too hot to eat and then when it cooled was hard as a rock.. under the gravy not so much.. they start off with an excellent product and ruin it with a microwave.. if I want microwave meals I’ll make tv dinners at home! Waiter was all smiles but didn’t offer any replacements.. he said he would “let the owners know.” There was just me and a couple in the restaurant so they weren’t swapped or anything. No excuse!
So I will start this review with the food and service. Food was great besides they ran out of biscuits so I could not get what I initially wanted to order. That is fine, I had a couple backup choices I had wanted to try. We ordered Scotch eggs for an appetizer and they were great also. The staff made sure our drinks stayed full and checked on us regularly. So why 4 stars? Eventhough the food was good, there was a group of six ppl at a table that were sooo loud it ruined the meal. Everyone in the place kept looking at their table, the ppl sitting behind us asked to be moved to the other side of the restaurant. They had a young child with them and the adults were constantly swearing, we wanted to enjoy our meal but ended up eating as fast as possible so we could leave. I would say give the place a shot, the food is really good and maybe you'll have more considerate ppl there when you go.
We went here for breakfast. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere think, barn doors and Joanna Gaines. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. Service was also great.
Bravocado Toast for the win! I also tried the peach Picante benedict-- yummy twist on the hollandaise sauce which is a good contrast to the pork..
