I was really hoping this place would deliver on some good home cooked east coast Italian food. Fountain Hills has too many mediocre restaurants that don't make you want to return. Several in the Italian food and pizza category. I ordered some take out home made lasagna and eggplant parmigiana dinners along with an order of garlic knots. The lasagna is 6 layers but the noodles were overcooked and the meat stuffing was skimpy. There was also not enough ricotta cheese. Every bite you tasted overcooked noodles. The eggplant was a bit better but still disappointing. Too much breading and the eggplant flavor was buried. The garlic knots were not good - they should be soft when you bite into them but these were hard - either old or not prepared properly. The red sauce over both dinners was acceptable - again I've had better. Based on this experience, I must say I am surprised at the high rated reviews. The pizza seems to review well so I will give the place another chance for their pizza.

This is the second time we've been to this restaurant both times we came right as they opened... they were extremely hospitable, great with our kids. Kevin (I believe his name was) made tons of balloon animals. The food is really good too. Over all I have not had a bad experience with the hills

The pizza is amazing and the owners are very attentive to their guest. We will definitely continue to eat here! Best pizza and pasta in Fountain Hills!

The food was not too good. I am Italian and the lasagna was not good. The presentation was not good either. Service was just okay. The prices were high for what you get.

The food here was absolutely delicious but the service was horrendous! At multiple points during our meal we questioned if our server (who I assume was the owner?) had forgotten about us. Bread was brought out 20 minutes after it was mentioned....we had to flag down the only other server to get refills on our long empty drinks... we asked for boxes when we were through with our meal where it was apparent we were a little frustrated with the service and our server mentioned free dessert but I guess it must have been a joke because that never happened. Then our ticket was lost and the other server had to take down our order to be rebilled....the whole process to get our bill must have taken at least 45 minutes. The food makes me want to come back but I just don't know if I can after such terrible service!
