My girlfriend and I stayed in Salida on vacation - We found Hunger Trailer through a typical Google search on our first day out there, and WOW we were blown away at how good this place is! It was close to where we stayed but I would go out of my way or my girlfriend would make me if we lived out there. Friendly attentive staff, food is cooked fresh when ordered and fairly quick even to go! We ate here 3 of the 5 days. One day it was twice and would have been 4 days but closed Thursday we found out - darn! :) I recommend the "loaded" option when available. The BBQ was out of this world. Brisket, pulled pork, ribs - there was no denying a lot of love and care went into their preparation as it was all so tender and tasty! Our last time eating there was the morning we drove home to Colorado Springs. Do not miss the chance!!!

Great place to stop for dinner. The food is great and the people are very friendly. The Google reviews are right about The Hunger Trailer. My wife and I stopped here for dinner on our way to Denver. I had the Tex Mex burrito, she had the Fried Avocado sandwich, and we shared an order of onion rings. The burrito and fried avocado sandwich were delicious, and the onion rings are incredible (definitely order them). While we were eating the chef came over and said "I noticed you didn't order my brisket or pulled pork. Smoked meats are my specialty." He gave us some to taste and he definitely can smoke meat. Next time I'm driving through I'm stopping for some brisket and pulled pork. You can't go wrong at this place.

What an amazing place! Best roadside stop ever!!! I got the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and roasted jalapenos. Delicious. Staff was super friendly too! My husband got the Philly burrito and really enjoyed it.

Amazing made-to-order food!! Best roadside stop we made. Ribs were perfectly cooked and full of flavour, and the Alaskan cod was the best fish and chips I've had in a while!

A hidden jem in plain sight. This is the place to stop and have lunch when traveling through Poncha Springs. The BBQ brisket is Smokey and savory.
