The Lakehouse Inn & Winery

About

The Lakehouse Inn & Winery is an 8 room B&B, 4 cottages, winery/wine bar, farm-to-table restaurant & day spa on the southern shore of Lake Erie.

Story

The Lakehouse Inn & Winery is a boutique resort in Northeast Ohio is located along the southern shore of Lake Erie in Geneva-on-the-Lake. The property consists of an eight-room bed and breakfast, four cottages, full production winery, Crosswinds Grille, featuring farm-to-table cuisine and the Spa.

The Lakehouse Inn is a four season destination. There are a number of packages/events to experience throughout the year. Fall colors are stunning while the days are still comfortable along the shoreline due to the warmer lake water. Lake Erie is also very captivating during the winter months as the lake terrain turns very tundra-like.

The Lakehouse Inn is one of the twenty-plus wineries along the “Lake Erie Wines & Vines” Wine, which is at the heart of Ohio Wine Country.

The Lakehouse Inn is within walking distance of Ohio’s oldest resort, “The Strip” where there are a number of games, small shops, and a number of eateries.

For activity enthusiasts, there are a number of golf courses, hiking and biking trails. The inn is a short distance from the Metroparks biking/walking trails. If you would like to get out for a drive, a trip to the historic Ashtabula Harbor, a stroll through one of Ashtabula County’s Covered Bridges, or exploring the Barn Quilt Trail across Ashtabula County are just a few possibilities.

My wife and I stayed the weekend at the Lakehouse Inn for our 21st anniversary. We really enjoyed our time here in part because of the proximity to many local wineries and covered bridges. In addition to the staff being very personable and helpful, the Inn itself is cute and cozy. If I had a complaint it would be that our room in the main Inn was very small and the price for the room was not small at all! This phenomenon is easily explained however when you walk outside to the back of the Inn. It is situated about 30 yards from the shore of Lake Erie and the view is awesome! The Inn has made great use of the property to accentuate its proximity to the water with terraced landscaping that includes plentiful seating and an outdoor bar area. My wife and I had drinks out here in the evening and coffee both mornings. Overall it was worth the price for us!

What a beautiful property and winery, it's just a shame one person can ruin the whole experience! The dark haired woman with the accent behind the bar, supposedly doing the wine tastings, was very rude & thats putting it mildly! My husband and I were in from out of town, specifically to visit this establishment, after seeing many positive advertisements! We must have sat at the bar for pretty near a half an hour, a couple that was there when we arrived were being tended to, which was fine! A couple comes in and lady behind bar apparently knew them, talked constantly and served them as well, as we sat there looking invisible! She gave us water and told us she would help us shortly several times to NO avail! Finally, feeling totally disgusted, we got up and walked out! All she could say as we were leaving was ''sorry, I know I talk too much''! Ya think??Such a shame to have such an irresponsible and rude person working in such a beautiful establishment, a bit pricey, but beautiful! Needless to say we will not be back...

We sat down on the patio- wonderful view with a nice bottle of wine. I was bummed out that they had run out of perch. My wife really enjoyed her pizza. I ended up with the kielbasa and sauerkraut which was just okay and a bit overpriced. Definitely just go to the lower patio for the lake view, wine and maybe just an appetizer or pizza. We'll try eating in the main Crosswinds Grill next time next time for more menu choices.

Great place for a glass (or bottle) of wine with friends. The view of the lake is amazing. They also have a little beach with chairs to have fun and relax on the sand.

My husband and I got massages and facials. The staff was very professional. The facility was clean and up to date. Overall great experience and prices were reasonable.
