For over 50 years, the non-profit Friends of the Salt Lake City Library have supported and enriched the library, literacy programs, and scholarship.
The Friends organization has only one full time and one part time employee in The Library Store. The remainder of the organization is run by volunteers.
Friends of the Salt Lake City Public Library is an organization dedicated to the continued well-being and enrichment of the libraries in the Salt Lake City System. The organization exists to promote and nurture the City Library System
and community literature.
Friends value public libraries as cultural, educational, and recreational centers and contribute their time, effort, and the resources of their organization to further develop the libraries' potential as dynamic forces in our community.
The Library Store is a non profit retail arm of the Friends offering literary based items in a gift store setting at the Main Library.
