Had a great experience getting to know the owner and tasting the wines. We came in and he hand picked wines to our taste. He was so friendly as well as informative about the different local places to eat and drink. We also had a taste of the little ramen shop even though it was closed. Loved the place so much left with 4 bottles!! Will definitely be returning to try the ramen and get more wines!!

I popped into The Local Grape to escape the heat while my wife was perusing stores nearby.  I ended up having a great conversation with Travis before the wife and kids eventually caught up with me.  The misses and I enjoyed a taste and BS session about wine while the kids had a soft drink.  Would definitely recommend for anyone interested in Sierra Foothills wines.

The Local Grape was one of the highlights of our stay in Mariposa aside from Yosemite. The owner was very knowledgable and honest about the wines, which we appreciated. I love that there's a focus on wines from the Sierra foothills. He was technically already closed by the time we swung in, but was more than happy to accommodate us since he was going to be in the store anyway. He was also just genuinely really fun to chat with, and we will definitely be coming back when we visit the area again. And... we left with 6 bottles of wine!

This is a gem of a spot in downtown Mariposa. We stayed in town for a Yosemite trip and we ended up visiting The Local Grape three times. It is a cozy and inviting spot to hang out and get a tasting in, but also great conversation with the owner, Travis. This is a fantastic place to wind down after hiking all day, or spend the afternoon on your last day in town. We will be going back next time we are out this way. Such a great little spot. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

If you’re staying in Mariposa or nearby for Yosemite, you HAVE to stop at The Local Grape! We had so much fun with the owner who we did a tasting with. He picked out wines based off our taste and also had us taste wines we wouldn’t normally choose off of a menu but ended up loving. We have been to Napa and this wine was just as good with a more fun/personalized experience. We left with 2 bottles! All the wines are from the surrounding counties which you’ll learn all about - the owner was so knowledgeable and had so many great stories to share too. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely come back to the Local Grape!

TL;DR - highly recommend this establishment if you’re looking for a place that makes you feel at home while learning and trying different wines. The Local Grape is not just a stop but a destination of its own.  Our visit to the Local Grape was definitely one of the main highlights of our trip. As we were wandering the beautiful town of Mariposa, we came across a wine tasting sign and decided to try it out. Travis, the owner, greeted us with open arms and clean glasses! and a wealth of knowledge. He was incredibly accommodating during our tasting and made us feel as though we were tasting with a long time friend. He listened to our likes and dislikes as well as the tales of our previous travels completely unrelated to wine. His recommendations were phenomenal and we couldn’t be more impressed with this beautiful establishment. We can’t wait to go back and see your growth and chat again.

Absolutely wonderful time at this restaurant, we were here for an afternoon drink and came back for dinner! Our fussy 11yr old enjoyed the ramen - result! Desserts we delicious, oh and the wine was delightful. Definitely visit

The owner was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable on the wines. Since he hand selects the wines that they carry, the tasting acted as a curated wine tour of region. Would highly recommend to anyone who finds themselves in Mariposa

Travis was super informative about the regional wines they had. He was incredibly down to earth, friendly, and charismatic. We spent a lovely afternoon tasting the wine on our honeymoon and we can not recommend The Local Grape highly enough!!!

Awesome wines located right in the historic center of mariposa. The owner is a super inviting individual who’s easy to talk to. He let us try as many wines as we wanted to before we decided to purchase several bottles. I also have to mention the Little Shop of Ramen in the same location he also co-runs with his wife that makes some of the best homemade noodles that I have ever had. Highly recommend!
