Story

It is our goal to provide people with something made completely by us! We will be smoking, curing and cutting all of our own meats. The bread will be locally baked. We intend to use local vendors for our products.....

Great place! I came in late in the afternoon and pretty much had the place to myself! I was really shocked because the food is amazing! I got the Daddy Rabbit (freshly cured and perfectly seasoned ribeye with grilled onions and cheeze whiz). I have to admit I was skeptical about the whiz but it actually was the gloriously golden glue that pulled it all together! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender, the po boy bread nice and soft, definitely not soggy! Top it off with a great helping of crispy French fries (not skinny, not thick, just right!) and I would say it was a perfect meal for this cloudy afternoon! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is niceness all around with a little bit of sass! She gave a great recommendation for exactly what I was looking for, the food and service did not disappoint! Thank you for a nice full belly and a great dining experience!

Since The Local has opened we've tried just about everything on the menu. Some things are great, others not so much. The Stanwich & chili cheese fries are my favorite. My kids really like the grilled cheese. The prices are on the high side in my opinion. I know that they cure everything in house, but we (a family of 4) spend right at $42 for 1 order of chili cheese fries, 2 sandwiches, 2 kids meals, & fountain drinks. But like I said, the things we like ARE great.

The manager or anyone else in there doesn't know what the deference between pickled jalapenos and fresh ones. That is cooking 101.
