Awesome Zoo! Worth way more than the cost of admission! Every employee was helpful and would ask if we needed directions to certain exhibits. They would remind us of feeding times, and zoo-keeper talks. It was a really good time and I'd go back if I'm in the Baltimore area again. The only negative factor was the layout of the zoo was not extremely clear. Not a huge issue but more painted paw prints may have led us to certain exhibits as opposed to backtracking a couple times.

I worked as an au pair in Baltimore for two years, and I would take the children here at least twice a month. The grounds are really beautiful, and well looked-after. 

I'm not the biggest advocate of keeping animals in cages, I find it quite cruel, but the enclosures were quite spacious, and well-maintained, and the animals seemed really well-cared for. There is an Africa exhibit, which is modelled really closely to what the animals natural habitats would be, and is my favourite as it reminded me so much of home. There is a Maryland exhibit, too, and a penguin enclosure. The kids really enjoy the merry-go-round, and there is even a little train that you can ride.

There are also some good places to get food and coffee.

This place is so much better than everyone thinks. shake the reputation of Baltimore and visit this great zoo. The penguin exhibit is very well done.

We've been members for 6 years and the kids still love going here! Brew at the zoo is very crowded and I'm not crazy about most of the craft beers they offer but it's a lot of fun. There is also an adult event on Valentines day weekend with food and drinks included. And you get to learn about animals sex habits and rituals lol.

We really enjoy the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, as it is big enough to enjoy but small enough that you can get through it with kids without them losing attention or falling asleep.  My son loved feeding the giraffes, which you can do for a couple of bucks.
