Story

The Mason Jar specializes in bringing comfort food to life. You will find baked goat cheese, yummy yams and green bean casserole on the appetizers sections, entrees range from tater tot hot dish to NY strip steak, seared salmon and hearth baked pizza or chicken pot pie. The outstanding dessert menu by Kevin VanDeraa of Cupcake rounds out the meal.
The Mason Jar offers a large selection of locally brewed beers and has great selection of wines on tap.

My boyfriend and I are sitting here finishing our wine when our already amazing server Sue comes over and asks us if we want anything for last call. We didn't know they were closing so she assured us we were welcome to stay and enjoy our wine, no rush. She also came over and gave us some fresh bread to try that the owner made (IT'S AMAZING). 90% of their food is made in house! The bun for burgers, the veggie burger! And all of their alcohol is from Minnesota! ALL OF IT! They are an amazing date night spot that supports the local economy and is environmentally conscious... wins all around!

A refreshingly unique menu. Nice atmosphere. Pot Pie and the Tater Tot Hotdish were both very good. My wife and I really enjoyed the Cheese Board. 4 stars because the service was a bit slow even though they weren’t very busy.

The food is excellent, it's family friendly and they have a good beer selection. Definitely a place to go for breakfast or brunch. Service has been hit or miss for us, and terribly disappointing when we've talked it up and then the service was bad. They did make it up and offered us a few free cupcakes, which helped out. **On the family friendly part, note that the bathrooms are not in the restaurant, but shared among the strip mall tenants in the shared corridor. Since the restaurant does not own the bathrooms, they also are not responsible for cleaning the bathrooms....sometimes they can be suspect!!

Was looking forward to going enjoyed the appearance of the restaurant. Other than that what a bomb. I had the tater tot hot dish it came out with the center icy cold. We waited for almost 10 minutes and I finally went up to the bar with my plate They took the dish and warmed it up. Needless to say I didn’t eat any more of it. When it came out from being warmed it was floating in bubbling Fat. My partner ordered the pot pie. It was not like any pie I’ve ever seen. It was a mixture With a large path pastry in the middle. We won’t be going back nor could I recommend it to anyone else.

If there was a no star option, I would have picked that...from start to finish, our experience at The Mason Jar was awful. We waited 10 minutes to get coffee and then couldn't get a refill. At least 1/2 of our orders for our party of 12 were wrong. Some food came out when everyone else was done eating. The food that did arrive was cold and dry. For example, my strawberry french toast tasted at least a day old , was dry, edges were hard was cool and had all of about 3 strawberries...and no syrup even after we asked for it twice. The restaurant wasn't that crowded. To say I was disappointed wouldn't begin to cover it. We will never go back.
