The McKenzie Law Firm, LLC is the solo practice of attorney Dan McKenzie. Located in Denver, Colorado, the McKenzie Law Firm provides legal consultation to small businesses and estate planning advice to individuals.

Story

My commitment to making the legal system work for everyone predates my career as a lawyer. Prior to attending law school, I worked as a policy analyst at a leading Washington, D.C. think tank, studying the impact of changes to the welfare system on its recipients. While a student at Northwestern University School of Law, I helped low-income Chicagoans in danger of losing their homes to predatory lending practices. I also served as the school’s “public defender,” assisting fellow students who had been accused of honor code violations.

In 2012, 2013, and 2014, Super Lawyers magazine named me a “Rising Star” in Colorado. The Rising Star award is given to only 2.5% of those eligible for consideration and recognizes exceptional attorneys who have attained a high degree of professional achievement. Since 2011, I have been a member of the Anti-Defamation League’s Mountain States Region Board of Directors. The ADL is a civil rights organization, whose mission is to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” As a board member, I make policy recommendations and publicly advocate for the ADL’s positions.
