Story

MEDICINE PLACE SPECIALTY PHARMACY is a full service retail pharmacy which offers free delivery, specialty compounding, and superior customer service. We are located in the heart of Tampa, Florida and have always been committed to serving the community.

The idea for Medicine Place was a dream for Dr. Sabrina Madabhushi, the Pharmacist-In-Charge, and her husband, Prahlad Madabhushi. After earning her Doctoral of Pharmacy degree at the University in 2001, Dr. Sabrina Madabhushi pursued a Pharmacy Residency at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and worked there as a nursing home pharmacist and inpatient pharmacy. After that she worked for two “big chain pharmacies” and had a less than pleasant experience working there. She found she could not give ample time to each customer to answer all their questions and found herself working long hours with lines of 10 angry people waiting for their prescriptions. The workload was too high to support great customer service and she found herself needing to work for a pharmacy that cared for its patients and could know them by their first names, unlike the big chains.

Medicine Place boasts of filling prescriptions within 20 minutes (and in some cases within 5 to 10 minutes), a line of medical equipment, free delivery, and personally knowing each customer. From the first day, providing excellent customer service has been the number one priority for both Sabrina and Prahlad Madabhushi. Whether it is a prescription or non-prescription item, a wheelchair or cane, or sometimes just a hug, the professional caring staff at Medicine Place will take the time to answer your questions and ease your concerns.

Being an independently owned pharmacy gives Medicine Place the freedom to be creative in finding new ways to meet our customer’s needs. Medicine Place does not subscribe to the “one size fits all” philosophy. On the contrary, our success comes from going out of our way to find “hard to find items” our customers are looking for.
