My third grade daughter started guitar this past fall and is having a great experience. Ms. Karen has been supportive, patient and helped my daughter build confidence in her ability to learn a new instrument. My daughter is really enjoying it. Bob is fantastic from my initial inquiry to accommodating any changes we had due to school holidays or schedule conflicts. Parking on site in Red Bank is also awesome!

I absolutely love The Musician's Studio and I could not be happier in sending my daughter here for her violin lessons. The main reason why I love it here is because they actually focus on learning music -- learning how to read music, learning how to feel and hear music, learning how to understand music -- all of which enables a student to gain such a deeper understanding of music and can then actually have a lifelong knowledge & skill of where they know what they are doing & why -- which is what really fosters a love and joy from within. The actually learning how to play music and focus on knowledge of music is the #1 reason why I pulled my daughter out of a prior music studio in the area. In our prior place, and in many others in the area, the whole focus is geared toward a yearly or bi-yearly recital. What ends up happening is that the student really ends up just memorizing and playing 1-3 pieces of music a year (often with little tricks or hacks to get it to sound right) in order to put on a stellar recital performance for friends and family. But the reality is, the student does not really end up learning music. My daughter took violin lessons for 4 years elsewhere and her recital songs were awesome but if you asked her to read a piece of music outside of that recital song -- she could not do it. Ask her to play the song even one month past the recital, and again, she could not do it. She sadly did not actually learn music -- she learned how to put on a show with memorized fingerings and then would forget it all because nothing was ever really taught. In speaking with the owner of The Musician's Studio (Bob) you will see how he genuinely loves music, loves playing and wants to share that knowledge and love with students so they can also achieve their own joy in music. The Musician's Studio does not do recitals --- and I LOVE this feature because I want my daughter to focus on actually learning music and not just putting on a memorized show. In our time at The Musician's Studio, my daughter has learned more in a few months than she learned in 4 years at the prior place that we used to attend. My daughter's violin teacher at The Musician's Studio (Ms. Emily) is beyond awesome as she in knowledgeable, very encouraging and positive, and purely loves and enjoys music and teaching that subject to others. My daughter feels so motivated and inspired because of Ms. Emily and is excited to practice during the week so she can show Ms. Emily what she accomplished by the time of her lesson on Saturday. This is exactly the feelings about music that I wanted my daughter to have (not bored, confused, and unmotivated as when only memorizing 1-3 songs a year for fancy recitals and not learning the whys and hows of what she was actually doing). I give The Musician's Studio 5 stars (more if I could) and would fully recommend as place where you or your kids can come and actually learn music and expand your horizons.

I'm a music teacher who needs to be able to teach class guitar this coming year. So I called The Musician's Studio and Bob agreed to give me some pointers. Bob helped me tremendously, not only with technique but also with great ideas for curriculum development and classroom activities. Bob is an outstanding musician and teacher. He met me at my level and I feel like I've really progressed in only three lessons. The studio is warm and welcoming and easy to find. I'd recommend the Musician's Studio highly to anyone who wishes to begin or continue their study of music.

My daughter has been taking violin lessons for about a year and a half. Emily is such a wonderful teacher, a real pro! Kelly loves going to class and is doing very well there. Bob is a good director. We enjoy and recommend this music school.
