The old and new jail should be condemned! There's roaches in the intake holding cells. There's roaches in the medical bull pens. Quarantine is absolutely filthy. The old jail side rock 214 has chunks of paint peeling and hanging from the ceiling. Rock 214 shower is full of mold. After showering the rock floods with water from the shower to the picnic table. In the roughly 30 days I was there two people committed suicide. If you like Alpo or Gravy train dog food, you will love the Wayne County Jail food. The food is absolutely horrible and they serve dry nasty corn bread with every meal. Honestly without exaggeration, animals at the Humane Society or city kennel receive better treatment and better food compared to the Wayne County Jail. This is a very dangerous place health wise and environmentally. If you have court or are being processed the deps pack you in the bull pens and if you're not lucky to get a spot on the bench you will end up sleeping on a floor where roaches are crawling around. Don't and I mean don't step on the roaches!!! It will smell like sewer if you do!! The conditions inside the jails are worse then a 3rd world country. The medical bull pen where you get a psyichal next door to the chest x ray machine there's fecal matter splattered on the walls. One thing positive I will say is that the Deps Lopez and Palmer were very nice and did treat us with respect! The other deps were either cocky or just plain assholes. If you have the opportunity to escape I highly recommend you try! You will either come out of the jail sick or you will loose weight from malnourishment. 

Mr. Evans and Mr. Napoleon, the both of you ought to be ashamed of yourselves and that filthy nasty Jail. The both of you should be bunked in there due to the deplorable conditions the both of you impose on people. For granted we made a mistake to end up there but there's no excuse nor no exceptions  of why it should be ran the way it is.

The most dysfunctional Police Department I've ever seen in my life. Every single staff member is rude to every person. When you try to get your property half of it's missing. The health department should have shut this place down a long time ago. I have seizures and I try to get my medication that they lost and have no file of but on my paperwork as soon as I came in with medication. If there was an option to not give a star they would have not received the one star that I had to put.

This place is the most unorganized lazy proof of detroit I've ever seen. Not only do they treat the inmates worse than felons, they also mistreat the loving family and friends of the inmates. They will lie and say visiting hours are cancelled just so they don't have to do their job. Literally, the guard has his feet sitting on the desk while he's eating chips. If visiting hours were cancelled, shouldn't they leave a note on the door or something on their website? They never answer any calls to the facility. Parking anywhere in that area can start from $1(if you're extremely lucky) to $100; that is a ridiculous rate to just get told visiting hours are cancelled. I'm not sure how the goverenment allows such an establishment to stay open. I really hope the mayor opens his eyes to this situation and fixes these problems. Perhaps replace all the employees, give them proper training or maybe even time off for foolish behavior, they shouldn't get away with it because they wear a badge, all crimes should be punished.

I'd rather sleep in a barn with pigs in it than this place. Oh wait this place is full of pigs. Incompetent pigs at best.
