Hands down my favorite restaurant in town. I love several of their entrees and apps. My go to is the Lamb Bhuna if you are ok with some heat. Any kind of Naan is great. And don’t forget about their soup - amazing! Could go on and on, their wine selection is always good and just love that you get so much food for the price. The staff are always knowledgeable, nice and timely. We always have leftovers to take home which are just as good the next day.
Yes! Definitely would revisit this place. Although not pictured, I specifically loved the balance of flavor in the Briyani. I was with a party of 8 and we shared dishes so that we can try everything. Great idea and glad we did it! Chicken Thikka Makhani - AMAZING, buttery, Chicken Thikka Saag - light and refreshing, Lamb Vindaloo - bold and spicy, Aloo Gobi - enjoyable vegetarian dish, Mint Chutney - WOW What’s more? The naan to pick up the sauce, OH YEAH! Why not 5 stars? It came down to one thing for me, the spices were just shy of the right spots.
It's been a while since my fiance and I have had a good Indian food so we were really looking forward to this dinner. Reserved the table ahead of time and really love the vibe of the place. I had requested a corner table and that's what we got! My fiancee ordered the Dirty Chai cocktail; I recommended it because the ingredients sounded amazing! Vanilla Vodka, Bailey's, espresso liqeur, allspice drum. It was really big flavor but we had to stop having it at one point because it didn't go too well with the food. That creamy coffee flavor with spicy food was not the best. I got the Reshmi Kebab chicken pieces marinated in ginger garlic paste and cooked in Tandoor. It looked good, but I was not a fan. The ginger garlic flavor was really too overpowering. It fell too sharp at the one point and I needed some plain food to balance out that taste. It was also not spicy enough so I had to ask her some chili powder to add some spice. I think the chicken was also quite overcooked. My fiancee got the Chicken Tikka Makhani which would I guess be equivalent to a butter chicken? And he loved it! I really really loved that as well. The chicken was cooked perfectly - soft and tender. And even that gravy was amazing! Proper spicy. Just what you would want. He got a naan to go with, and really devoured that. I was hoping for something more of a soft thick naan, but this was more on the thinner crispier side. Basically the verdict is get that Chicken Tikka Makhani!
Beautiful restaurant inside, also have a great patio. The service was phenomenal, my server made great recommendations. I started with the Chana Masala, which is fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The Batura bread is so delicious and the perfect platform to scoop the Chana masala. The chickpeas were delicious and the freshness of the jalapeños, onions, tomatoes and cilantro complemented them beautifully. I then had the Chicken Tikka Madras Biryani. Oh. My. Word. So much flavor, the curry sauce has just enough spice and packs so much flavor for the tender chicken. You won’t be disappointed with the food here. Highly recommend.
Found this gem of the Haymarket while searching for a place to eat on a busy Saturday. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff was very busy but friendly. Cocktails were excellent! The spinach bread is fantastic, the mulligatawny was very good, and my chicken Tikka was tender and delicious.
Very mixed experience overall. The saff was very friendly and the entrees were ok. But our first set of samosas came out cold in the center and the rice was meh. Overall it would have been better if we hadn't been seated by wine bottles that look like they had never been wiped down since they were put on display. Lots of hype for the Oven but mostly disappointing results.
Tried many things here: aloo gobi flat just spicy no real flavors. Mutter panner okay but flavor off the mango lassi liquidy. Black dhal good spicy and mungh dhal bland. Raita good the mango chutney tasted like marmite and the kheer was watery. It is like the flavors were off because they did not have the right masala ratios. The desserts were good. The butter chicken flavors were flat. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options.
Was excited to finally eat here…. The food was very below average. At a few points in the meal thought did this all just get microwaved out of a bag…. It wasn’t good at all. Another table we could overhear them saying how bad the food was also. Gave it a 2 star, because the staff was okay.
Fanciest looking Indian restaurant I’ve been to. Located in beautiful downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. I had way too much food and it was all excellent: the spiced tea, the samosas best I’ve ever had, the chana masala also best I’ve ever had, the mulligatawny soup excellent! and the aloo gobi. Excellent service and the prices were very reasonable like $50 for two people and all this food.
If you like authentic Indian food then don’t visit this restaurant. They made every food in western style. Nothing tasted like Indian food. I don’t know why they named each dishe as Indian varieties . Disappointed!
