It was a bit older of a place, but lovely! It was so relaxing and lived up to it's name if being peaceful. Did find it a little odd that the owner was away when we visited and left her friend (who had her own b&b about 3 doors down) in charge. Not sure if our positive experience was due to the loveliness or due to the positivity of the friend.  The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the uncertainty of the friend thing, lack of security, and the massive cockroach in our bathroom. Otherwise, it was a great visit.

Just what you want in a B&B experience. Nice older place with character, friendly and accommodating manager, nice location...and curated guests (we met and spent time with a lovely family and another friendly couple). And the breakfast was terrific. The town of Palacios doesn't have much to offer but nearby Bay City does, and it's just another 20 minutes or so to Matagorda Beach. If you fish, bring your gear, and if you're a birder, check out the Birding  Center by Bay City.

Just what the doctor ordered!  Stress levels went down, relaxing went up, the quiet and beauty was a perfect slowdown to our busy lives.  5 days later and I am STILL thinking about Paula's breakfast.  This is a place I will always want to go back to.

Delightful experience!   Inviting and welcoming.  Lots of seaside escape charm.  Great place to relax and unwind from the hustle of life.  Wonderful for couples looking to reconnect or family gatherings.  Loved and loved again the claw foot tub.
