Decent hotel offering an acceptable value for what you pay. Rooms are small, but clean, comfortable and with nice views. Breakfast has very limited options and is always busy, but is a good option to eat something early. Staff was able to quickly fix some minor inconveniences during my stay. Convenient location for tourists.Rooms: 4/5
The receptionists were amazing and easy going, making check-in a breeze. The room, though small, was well organized and I appreciated the desk space. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness at breakfast. I had to change out two dirty glasses before finding a clean one, and even then, I had to clean it myself with a tissue. The worst part of my stay was the elevator situation. Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes to catch a ride, which was frustrating to say the least. Oh they neglected cleaning my room ! Had to ask for it myself twice until i had it done ! Overall, my stay was average, but the elevator wait time and cleanliness issues were definite drawbacks. I may consider exploring other options next time. Nearby activities: Close to center
We stayed at this hotel for three nights, hoping for a great experience but left disappointed on a few fronts. Note that i'm not even a picky person when it comes to hotels. Firstly, I was supposed to receive a king room with a nice street view, but instead, we ended up with a view of a neighboring building’s rooftop—a letdown, especially as a member I had requested something with a decent view and preferably on a high floor during booking. Secondly, the cleaning service missed our room throughout our stay. I had to personally request cleaning from the cleaning lady on the second day when I noticed it hadn’t been done for the second time. I always made sure to remove the sign from the door and we are always out the whole day so this should have gave them enough time to clean our room. The elevator wait times remained problematic like many reviews mentioned, although being on the sixth floor helped mitigate the issue. The room itself was decent but like i mentioned the disappointing view was an issue, and the shower temperature inconsistencies were bothersome. Breakfast options were limited, with one day even lacking milk for cereal—a surprising oversight. Despite the convenience of luggage storage post-checkout, overall, the unmet expectations regarding the room, cleaning service, and amenities left us feeling underwhelmed. We wouldn’t choose to stay here again. As a member, i was expecting much better than that but ended up being really disappointed.
We traveled to New York City with high expectations to explore its many attractions. Our stay at Hyatt Place/Chelsea offered a mix of positives and negatives. We booked a room with a king bed and a pullout sofa for our teenager, and we brought along our two dogs. Upon arrival, unloading was chaotic due to having to double park on the street during heavy rain. The luggage carts provided were small and inadequate, causing some of our belongings and dog food to scatter in the lobby. These luggage carts, often referred to as bellman carts, were not spacious enough to accommodate our luggage and other items effectively. The front desk ladies were friendly though and attempted to help as best as possible. We were informed that we could park our vehicle in an offsite garage and get reimbursed through hotel validation. However, upon reaching the garage, we were turned away because of our full-size SUV. This led us to find parking ourselves through an app called SpotHero, costing us $300 for five days. It's worth noting that this hotel may not be suitable for families or groups of more than two guests. On the positive side, the hotel's location is excellent, offering breathtaking views of the skyline and being within walking distance to many city attractions. The facility itself is modern, clean, and well-maintained, having been built in 2021. The room size is understandably compact at 186 square feet, leaving us with minimal space, especially when the foldout bed was in use. We recommend packing as if you are going for an overnight stay rather than a 6-day stay to manage the limited storage space effectively. Additionally, the bathroom is extremely small and hard to maneuver, which can be challenging for some guests. Safety concerns arose as we had to stack our belongings by the door, limiting our exit options in case of an emergency. Furthermore, when bringing the cart up stairs, a large rack blocked half of the hallway, preventing the cart with luggage from fitting through. This rack is continuously outside of the room and poses a hazard in case of emergency situations. At a rate of $300+ per night, we expected a lot better in terms of room functionality, safety measures, and overall guest experience. The breakfast included with our stay was decent but limited in variety, consisting of sausage links, yogurt, scrambled eggs, cereal, bagels, toast, juice, coffee, and fruits. In summary, the hotel has its merits, particularly its prime location and modern facilities. However, improvements are urgently needed in parking accommodations, guest amenities, room and bathroom size, space management, and safety measures to better cater to families and larger groups, especially at the premium price point.
Great location, and the rooms aren’t super big, but a good size. Lovely views, but not too many channels on the TV sadly. They offer free breakfast, but it ends at 10 AM on the weekends. The staff were sweet. I didn’t hear any noise at night. Comfy bed Walkability: Super walkable and close to the subway
Great Hotel to visit New York. Go for one of the upper level’s to enjoy the great view. Rooms are small like everywhere in Manhattan. Also the rooms do not really have a wardrobe! Position of the hotel is also great. Red and Orange lines only 5 min walk away.
The hotel is nice and the staff is friendly. They serve complimentary breakfast. The rooms are clean and the view is beautiful. The only issue was the shower. They didn’t have hot water when we stayed. But it seemed to just be a one time thing. The hotel is close to everything but not too close that it’s super loud and crowded.Rooms: 5/5
I have to be honest, after reading some reviews I even considered cancelling my reservation but I am SUPER happy I didn’t! The room size was super adequate for 4 evenings but nonetheless with that view… who cares! Super clean, comfortable, amazing light for makeup in the bathroom, good hairdryer, very quite and good blackouts for sleeping. I know people complain about selfservice at breakfast but I actually loved the idea! I hate to wait for someone to find me a table, or bring me coffee, or whatever. I had enough options and food was delicious.. pancakes just on the first day, bagels, eggs, iogurt, muesli, oats with toppings, salad, fruit, gluten free options… The location of the hotel is priceless! Good and safe area, close to subway, even walking distance to the Edge and some other nice restaurants and attractions. Staff was very professional, helpful and kind. Also, they kept our luggage on the last day so we could enjoy every minute. Could not recommend this hotel more!
I stayed there for 11 nights , the location was great! I loved the staff and I would like to especially thank Justin reception guy, tall with braids for his guidance about nightlife etc. Elevators were fast enough and the breakfast was incredible! The view from the room was breathtaking! Totally gonna go back!Rooms: 5/5
Nice people and good rooms, but the elevators are incredibly slow. More than once I had to wait over 10 minutes just to get an elevator. The building was not designed with sufficient elevators, and the elevators they have run quite slowly.Rooms: 5/5
