Story

The San Franciscan restaurant and cocktail lounge serves the South Bay with succulent prime rib, steak, and seafood. We opened our doors in 1963, and since then, have been consistently regarded as a top dining pick in Torrance.

Our home-style menu is comprised of traditional American and Italian dishes. We feature a different freshly made soup every day of the week. The San Franciscan is happy to accommodate all healthy cooking requests.

Very nice and hard working staff. Really on the ball. I had prime rib, fantastic. Large thick, perfectly cooked, delicious. Maybe the best I've had. Our friends had the lobster and prime rib. They told us the first lobster didn't  seem perfect and we are making a new one. Not like other places that make you get a mushy one and send it back after taking to the server then manager. Overall a quality place to eat. Most people already know that who live in the area.

Always delicious. I love the liver and onions. But they cook all their meats so wonderfully.

My experience was not as pleasurable as the previous reviews. For beginners, my husband and I decided to go on a last minute dinner date  on New Year's Eve 2018. We got to the restaurant about 9:30 pm, late I know, we asked if we could get a table, mind you, I called ahead of time and asked if they were still serving dinner. We get to this place we're told by the hostess to take a seat a the bar "we'll come find you"  so while we waited I who never drinks asked the bartender if he could recommend something,  he looked at me with a grouchy old face and said " I don't know you, I don't know what you like you pick something"! I was like, wow, what a jackass! So we get seated, omg, I'm laughing right now, the waitress sets the menus down on the table and holds her pen and ticket order pad and says "are you ready to order?"!  She didn't even give us a minute to look at menu. The food was amazing, I had the rib eye and salad with baked potatoe, delish!!!! But the service sucked big time. There was also dirty utensils on our table that looked to have been attempted to be washed,  specifically my butter knife, but it was still dirty!!! I still tipped, I still tipped 10%. The waitress even brought my husbands beer that he ordered before our meal, with the meal. lol I gave it two stars cause the steak was good... It was the first time there and our last. I was told by some of my customers who shop at the local grocery store where I work, that if you're not a regular customer there the staff makes you feel unwelcome and so yes, that was evident!!!

We had a great time. Good service and good food at a fair price. Not bad and it's a lively place.
