The actual building is beautiful, lots of history in it. Like a lot of malls, it's struggling. But they are doing a good job of redefining themselves and coming up with creative spaces. The food courts has a nice variety. There is a produce stand as well. Great place to go walking in the cold winters. And there are also pathways that connect to other buildings and even over the river so you don't have to walk outside. Definitely a place to check out.

I will start with the positive. There is so much character in the original building. The high ceilings are beautiful and such a testament to the old way of building. It's rare to walk into a mall and see glass ceilings, chandeliers, and crown molding. It was neat to walk around and marvel at. But that was the main problem. There are very few places to actually shop. You can enjoy the building, but if your intentions are to shop, I would try elsewhere. Most of the store fronts are empty. The internet has killed this mall.

A lot of my favorite stores have left. But. AYZHA Fine Art Gallery is still thriving and is celebrating their 5 year anniversary! Great local and national artists, jewelry and awesome books! Check them out on the 2nd floor.

There not much in this mall anymore. Strange to see this very empty space where a great mall once was. Chances are you're not going to go here unless you're going to the Y or the dentist. A shame too and I sincerely hope someone comes along and takes a chance on this remarkable space (always been curious why the Milwaukee Public Market didn't move in there).

So, is this mall dying or is it already dead? My review isn't really a rating of the shops inside Grand Ave. but more a rating of the Grand Ave. experience overall. Lots of closed storefronts. The place seems to thrive as a food court for the downtown business class only. So much potential....or? I don't know. Maybe the project was kind of failed from the beginning.
