These are fun to look at. If you look very closely at one stack of rocks the one that is closest to the George Washington Bridge, on the edge of the Hudson you’ll see that it was cemented together. I did not see any others cemented together though. I’m surprised that people haven’t knocked these down!
Loving the walk on this area and making a stop at the Sisyphus stones park is a nice and calm moment, the dynamics of the equilibrium , the focus on the stones surrounded by the park a d the Hudson River make this place a delight. In Greek mythology Sisyphus or Sisyphos was the king of Ephyra. He was punished for his self-aggrandizing craftiness and deceitfulness by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity.
met the creator while he was out setting these up - which he does lightning fast by now. went on to have one of the best conversations I've had all year. one man provides meaning to so many people simply by arranging stones a certain, careful way. the simplest of actions can have the most of meanings
Beautiful views of the bridge and the sliver of the city down south. Lovely to walk by and see. It is great to see and interpret the stones from the mythology of Sisyphus.
Stunningly remarkable sentinels to this sculptures work. Awesome stuff. Look closely in the shots, uliks is here.
Great art work! At first glance you think it’s a weird rock formation but of course as you get closer you start to notice its man-made or is it??? :
Great spot to relax all day and most of the night. I Always come here to get away from the city traffic.
Wow didn't know it was a that big a thing. I like calling them The Runes
Waste of time! Drove almost 4 hours from New Hampshire to see what the stones were all about. What we saw was something anyone can do. The pictures online weren't anything like it was in person, nearly half of it was gone. At least it was free and my boyfriend and I took a great photo of us and the bridge.
love to see when these get knocked down, which they often do!
