Did a couples massage with my wife. I had the deep tissue 50 minutes and she had the Swedish message 50 minutes. The messages were amazing, the spa is inside the Bear Mountain Inn and you have to pay for parking since it's located on state park property. The spa employees were very friendly and the atmosphere is very serene & tranquil. Will be returning to the spa soon.

My back is really messed up and I've been trying to find someone to tear into it for a while but always leave feeling like nothing really changed. I had an 80 minute deep tissue massage with Emily today and it was amazing! She's very communicative and genuinely interested in tailoring the massage to your body (and your pain tolerance). When I explained that I wanted her to go to town on my back she really did and I feel like a lot of tension was released. If you're a victim of any sort of trauma, or generally feel weird about a stranger touching your body, I would highly recommend her; she really cares about what you're comfortable with. Also if your pain tolerance is through the roof and you need someone to obliterate the knots in your back she's your girl. I'll definitely be back; I'm sure some tension will return, but I'm so glad I've found someone to help alleviate my back pain, and such a kind genuine soul at that.

I had my hair done for my friends' wedding at Bear Mountain.  Dawn was fantastic!  She didn't rush through it, she responded to my comments respectfully, and she nailed it!  My hair held from getting it done at 9:30am until I took it down at 4am!!  So, these ladies know what they're doing.

The only reason I give one less star for the Spa overall is due to the fact that the woman at the register asked me which hairstylist worked with me (Dawn) and then handed me a gratuity envelope and asked me to write "Jackie" on it... so that was bizarre.  I made sure to write "Dawn" and handed it over to her.  Not sure what's going on behind the scenes over there, but other than that, I would recommend these ladies for hair!

Beautifully appointed, relaxing spa at the Bear Mountain Inn!  I had a facial done here recently and met a very experienced and knowledgeable esthetician, Shirley.  She helped to create a relaxing and enjoyable experience for me.  She also gave me great at home advise for how to care for my skin, very kind!  I had the Acne Facial done.  One complaint was the front desk customer service.  I had a gift certificate and was informed that I needed to provide this information upon making an appointment.  My first reaction was that I thought I'd need to rebook my appointment..didn't understand why this was an issue.  I wish she would have informed me of this after checking me in and in a more pleasant way.  Anyhow, she really was fine, nothing bad, just not the best in terms of customer service.  Shirley was great!  You must book with her for facial services!!!
