If I could rate this restaurant any lower, I would. The String Bean used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the Belmont area until I had a pretty unfortunate incident there. I was eating lunch there when I bit down on a chicken bone (that was in a chicken salad croissant sandwich) and cracked my tooth. I immediately notified a manager in the most polite way possible just to let him know what had happened. All I asked for was some contact info in case I needed to have some dental work done. The manager was communicative throughout the process but does not make any major decisions when it comes to these scenarios apparently. I've since had the tooth fixed for a considerable cost and have been trying to contact the owner for over a month. Since I haven't heard anything back from anybody regarding the situation, I'm assuming I'm being ignored. Nothing was offered to me at the time of the incident besides a comp for my meal. Sad to see this happen to a restaurant I once liked to go to but as a business owner customer service should be your NUMBER ONE priority. I haven't seen any effort on The String Bean's side to settle the situation at all. There's no excuse in my mind for letting a situation like this one get to this point.

Artisan type food at restaurant, nice vibe. Also many hard to find craft beers that you can purchase individually or create a variety six pack at market side. And a nice wine selection and select other items. Small but quaint restaurant and market, limited outdoor seating seasonally, with occasional entertainment. Also a butcher shop and fish market. If this is your jam, it's a cool little place.

This was a fun place to visit for lunch. The service was quick and friendly. The only drawback is that the seating area is small. They do have good outdoor seating but if they are busy inside, it can be difficult to find space to sit. Overall, we enjoyed our meals and the four people I visited with said that we would all return for another meal! Belmont has some good food options for the lunch hour! You should try this one.

Great atmosphere, not enough seating inside.   Warm weather drinking because this place has a big porch that is perfect.  Great beer selection!

Absolutely stupid good food. We tried the bbq egg rolls and they were to die for. Meat is fresh and there is a butcher in house. Awesome little joint. Try it you won’t be let down.
