THE NEW TASTE OF CHICAGO, I ordered the PACK SHOE sandwich. They have a huge variety of different sandwiches and combo options at this take out restaurant. It sits on a convenient corner the the Roseland area in Chicago. This particular sandwich is massive enough to feed 4 people and have some leftovers. Corn beef, Italian beef, steak, chicken, and gyro meat are the proteins that fill every crevice. "With everything" means lettuce, tomato, taziki sauce, mayo and cheese. I loved it, would definitely go again.
I've been here 2x. The King Kong burger was so good that I had to get it twice. The older guy at night makes it just right and we discuss current events. Service is good and food was great!Food: 5/5
It's not hard to make a gymshoe sandwich or get wrong. But this place did just that. Lack of preparation, they basic threw it on a thick piece of hoagie bread and a slice of cheese. Overall a mid sandwich at best here can get better gymshoes elsewhere in the city fr. 5.2Food: 2/5
I've been coming to this location, the real 1st original Taste of Chicago for over 20yrs. They make your food selections to order and ingredients are fresh. My favorite sandy from here is the Footlong Jimshoe which is composed of Gyro meat, Italian beef meat, Corned beef meat on a hot French roll. You can add as many or as little condiments as you choose Vegetarian options: With this restaurant you have thee options to add meat or have no meat. Parking: The restaurant is located on the very end of the corner on 111th Michigan making parking just a lil bit difficult to find depending on what time you arrive. Kid-friendliness: Kids love nacho cheese, chicken tenders and fries and burgers and hotdogs and salad. Wheelchair accessibility: The street east of this location sits at the top of a hill, so going up or down with a wheelchair can be somewhat difficult to maneuver.
It was late, and I wanted a taco. I will never give in to that craving without being where I know the food is great. I will have to go again in daylight hours.Food: 3/5
Well I went to get a packed shoe and a gym shoe sandwich everyone says it's the best out here and I seem to disagree the bread extra thick not toasted which threw the taste off for me the meat was good better than most the size was enough for at least 4 people which was cool but wasn't worth the ride so it's a no go for me.Food: 3/5
They reviews are bogus.. I don’t understand how can you complain about something that’s made fresh for you that’s why they make you wait 20 minutes to make it fresh feeding people in the hood is so hard .. but my food is & has always been fye fresh & good I ordered a Italian fries almost every day & their wings Is fye ..as well
Awful and greasy food. I paid $9 for a super taco that had hard unrecognizable meat with old lettuce and half a slice of tomato. Please spend your money somewhere else to avoid being upset
I saw this on Uber Eats and the reviews were singing praises and I was 10+ hours without food. I ordered a Philly cheese steak that came w fries and got some cheese dip on the side. Correct me if I’m wrong but shouldn’t a Philly cheese have cheese and be hot/warm? Now my Uber driver didn’t speak a lick of English and was dilly dallying parked blocks away from the restaurant until I messaged them asking what’s the holdup. My food was coldthat may have had more to do with delivery person, the sandwich had no elements of a Philly cheese steak and wasn’t very good. It also ended up making me sick.
New Taste of Chicago is a delightful restaurant that captures the essence of the city's diverse culinary scene. Nestled in a charming location, this eatery offers a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu at New Taste of Chicago showcases a delectable array of dishes that represent the city's iconic flavors. From deep-dish pizza to Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches, each dish is prepared with attention to detail and an authentic touch. During my visit, I was impressed by the friendly and attentive service provided by the staff. They were knowledgeable about the menu, and their recommendations were on point. Our waitress, Sarah, deserves a special mention for her exceptional service, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout the meal. The standout dish for me was the Chicago-style Deep Dish Pizza. The thick, flavorful crust, topped with gooey cheese, tangy tomato sauce, and a medley of fresh toppings, was an absolute delight. Overall, New Taste of Chicago offers a fantastic dining experience that encapsulates the city's culinary heritage. With its delicious dishes, warm ambiance, and excellent service, this restaurant is a must-visit for locals and visitors alike looking to savor the flavors of Chicago.
