I've been coming to this location since it opened.   I have never once had a bad meal here.   At first I always stuck with things I knew and that was great.  After awhile I began to explore the menu.    
I'm guessing they rigorously test their dishes before they get on the menu, as nothing is ever less than perfect.
The atmosphere is comfortable and not over done.  The staff are courteous, quick, helpful and seem genuinely happy to be working there.
In my opinion The Village Squire is one of the finest restaurants in Chicagoland.   I'm sure the owners are very proud of what they've created.

I want to love this place but easy on the salt.  Everything is so salty especially the soup.  That aside I must say these guys have the idea on what a restaurant should be.  Great selection of items, variety, and great bread and service!  The cream soups are really great but the others are so salty you can't enjoy them (ie. french onion, stuffed pepper, chicken noodle, etc.)  The popcorn is a nice touch and the decor is fun.  The fireplace in the winter is awesome!

I was in town visiting and I was told to  go here during my stay. It has an informal atmosphere and I would describe it as a family restaurant and bar. The staff was busy but friendly and efficient. There were 10 of us and everyone of us enjoyed our meal and selection. Bravo.

Fall off the bone ribs were delicious.  Portobello chicken was excellent.  Waitress was terrific kept out glasses continually full.  Great service!

First time here and it was late so we thought we'd get ok service and food.  The service was great, the food was fantastic and they had live music. Our waitress made some recommendations and we ordered gyro appetizer (waitress recommended), saganaki and filet souvlaki. The gyro appetizer was great (would absolutely get again), the saganaki was just ok and probably wouldn't order it again but the filet souvlaki was fantastic. We ordered it medium amd it was amazing.  I had a couple drinks that were pretty good too. I would definitely go here again and highly recommend. Oh and I had asparagus soup and my husband had a salad which was good too. It was fresh cut lettuce which was great instead of bagged salad. This place is worth stopping in.
