Lukewarm food, disinterested servers, smallish portions. I grew up near this restaurant and have lived close to this restaurant for most of the last 50 years. I have both eaten there and had their take out countless times. Over the past decade or so they have appeared less and less in our usual rotation. Now I know why. With our dinner order, I ordered tea. I received clear warm (not hot) water with a tea bag in a YALE mug. Yup, that's right, they used SWAG in their restaurant service. Our (single) scallion pancake came immediately and at a proper temperature. Next came our Tofu and Spinach soup. A good amount of tofu and spinach served tepid in a thickened, clear tasteless liquid. Hmm, water and cornstarch with absolutely no spicing? Then our rice was brought out. A small to medium portion served warm (not hot). But no entree in sight. After a wait while the rice cooled to room temperature, we sent the rice back and told the waiter to bring the rice and entree out together and to make sure they were both hot. The waiter brought the cooled rice back to the kitchen. Two minutes later brought out our warm (not hot) food, went back to the kitchen and brought back our rice (now cold). Yes, it took the waiter two trips to bring two plates from the kitchen. The flavors of both the beef dish and the rice were good. Portions of both were on the small side and only the beef was warm. Over all it was a very disappointing experience.

It is a great restaurant with friendly staff. I have been eaten here time and times again and never been disappointed.

The food was amazing and the service was great! The restaurant is very clean and the staff is personable. It's a great place!
