Visited with some friends for a meet-up, and the hostesses were very off-putting right from the get-go. Apparently more people than were expected had shown up for the meet-up, so when I told the hostess I was there for the group, she and another hostess/server rolled their eyes, looked exasperated, and said "Well I don't know where you're going to SIT" and complained about how big the group was. This was my first time going to this meet-up as well as my first time at The Yard and I immediately felt unwelcome and like it would just be easier to leave. The server finally walked us to the group and then told them they should move to the lounge - after paying HER, of course. She didn't want to deal with the group but hey, don't want to miss out on our money, right? I found her to be very rude. So us and a couple people who had also just arrived went right to the lounge to order and await the rest of the group. Our server was very friendly and our drinks and food were good. My husband's burger was well done when he asked for rare, but the server brought over a slice of cake to make up for it, which we all shared since it was so big. She didn't split our checks correctly but that was our fault for not mentioning splitting the check before ordering! Definitely remember to do that, makes things easier for everyone. Prices are a little high - I ordered an appetizer instead of a meal and it was $11 for two crab cakes on a few wilted leaves of arugula. It was tasty but I wouldn't order it again. Our friend who got fish and chips had a huge serving, so that was a good value.

Firstly, The Yard Restaurant is in the process of "ReBranding" itself. Their new name (and Motif) is changing to, The Backyard Brewery...! The food will still be the same EXCEPTIONAL Caliber it has always maintained, since they opened their doors, way back in 1976. They will continue to serve, THE Most Tender and Delicious Roast Beef, but sadly, the Salad Bar will cease to exist. They will be brewing their own Micro Brewery beers on site to either be enjoyed in the newly constructed bar or you can stop into their Country Store and pick up some, to enjoy in your own backyard. I look forward to this new phase of a VERY fine establishment.

Apparently they are transitioning to being a brewery next week. As our server put it, 'we're new. We don't know what's what. ' Prime rib egg rolls were tasty but served on a bed of wilted arugula. Pro tip: use fresh greens and bring appetizer plates. Buffalo burger was dry. Stir fry had too much soy sauce. Meager beer selection for a brewery to be.

Newly revamped with an in-house brewery which should have craft-beer lovers flocking; a range including a coffee porter, a milk stout that tastes as good as a Dublin-poured Guinness, a couple of excellent IPAs along with Belgian beers and some wonderful lagers. Come for the beer, but stay for the food and great atmosphere.

Great the first time we went but terrible the second time. They haven't had more than 8 of 12 beers either time ive been there. Food was terrible ave the waitress was even worse. Food wasn't edible and when waitress came to take the food at the end she saw that it was barely touched and didn't ask how everything was. Sad to see the Yard turn into this after initially being excited about this place opening. Things need to change quick or they'll be gone.
