This is a beautiful natural park in a suburban setting. Lots of trails, awesome vistas, abundant wildlife. Lots of hills, though, so if you get winded easily, be forewarned. The city keeps the trails well plowed too, which is especially nice in the 6 months of winter.

There is a weekly park run every Saturday morning, so paths are plowed quickly for weekend walk.  Lots of wildlife visits as lake,  woods and prairie offer habitat for migration.

Great walking and observation trails. A great place to bring your family for an afternoon or evening barbecue dinner. However taken over by Canadian geese in the middle of the island which causes some issues and cannot swim in the water. Alot of people take kayaks out or paddle boats out but no swimming. Best times to go early June to the first part of July when the lake is clear. And after that it's mostly observation but the trails are awesome.

We were there for ice skating. The rink was in good shape and the warming house is , well, warm.
